I did the shine 26 mile in Manchester about 5-6 years ago too. I agree don't sit down even though it's tempting. Quick put stop for a drink and a wee and keep going. It's the last 6 miles that are a killer. I walked with my cousin and was sat in my uncle's car waiting for my dad to get there, my uncle ended up driving me the 20 yards to my dad's car so I didn't have to walk more. :rotfl:
Make sure you wear the correct footwear too, I had running trainers on and thought I'd be fine But ended up brushing the soft tissue in the bottom of my foot, I was in agony for weeks after.
Can I be moved to the tww please? We only managed to bd once at the start of the fertile week, about 3 days before OV so we will be out this month. Might be nice not to stress about AF for once.0 -
*Tentatively pops head in*
Hi all, apologies, I seem to dip in and out of this thread. My husband and I were about to give up on TTC, in fact my Endometriosis Surgeon has suggested I go back on the pill in preparation for a second surgery with him, but we've decided to give TTC our first another go after putting it on hold for a while.
I'm currently on CD23 / 8/9 DPO - normally by now I'd have some pre-AF spotting but I've had none at all, have been very nauseous and eating enough for a small family, have intermittent pelvic twinges which I don't normally get pre-AF, and feel utterly exhausted i.e. coming home from work absolutely shattered. Not that I'm symptom spotting or anything, and I definitely did not do a HPT this morning and feel deflated at a BFN so early on....
Have been enjoying reading through the last few pages on here and catching up on people's TTC journeys and delighted to see some BFPs also. Hope everyone is well0 -
Thanks PKK!! I would usually have more the opposite problem and my doctor gave me colperamin and buscopan which do help. This last week or so I've had the opposite and been really constipated which is unusual for me.
I must get some of the home bargains numbers, I spent £20 in less than 24hrs and it wasn't even funny lol. I just thought if anythings going to show the frer will. It's so annoying because we live in a small town so I have to be stealthy when buying tests lolDebt Free as of December 2020 👏

Thanks CCJ! Hope you get your BFP soon - it's frustrating when you're in limbo and just want an answer either way. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
Trying really hard not to over-analyse everything but obviously it's incredibly hard not to. I can't deny the overwhelming nausea, exhaustion, odd twinges and insatiable appetite I've had in the last week and the fact that I'd have normally started spotting by now, but also can't deny the string of BFNs I've had, and the fact that I've convinced myself numerous times I'm pregnant, only for BFP to show up a couple of days later. Fingers crossed it'll all amount to something!0 -

Skimper, I did shine in Manchester 6 years ago (start of sept 2012), so we may have done it on the same night!
Thrift360, welcome back. That all sounds very positive, I have my fingers cross a BFP shows for you soon! 9dpo is very early to be testing so try and hold out for a few more days if you can! (Easier said than done I know!)
BusyBargainz, well done on your shine marathon! The stiff feeling the day or two after are still very much fresh in my mind 6 years later! Hahaha I hope you’ve treated yourself to a restful day today!
CCJ, ah it is so frustrating! I had a similar situation approx. 6 months after I came off the pill. My periods had returned and were quite consistent for the first 6 months but then I had a random 49 day cycle followed by a 42 day one – so annoying! I am hoping this isn’t the situation for you as you are still only cd30 so still would be deemed a standard cycle length and still very possible for a BFP!0
