Hello all, apologies in advance for the fairly long post
I haven't been on here for a while and wow so many BFPs! Congratulations to those with BFP, hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months!
Sorry to those who has BFN and AF showing up...
Since I last posted, 3 family/friends have announced their pregnancies - I believe they had been trying for a while but not as long as me.
We're been trying since March 2015 and at our last appointment at the 2 year mark we were advised that there was nothing they could do until 3 years of TTC for potential IVF.
I started acupuncture properly in June to see if it would help, I'm not sure if its done much but the acupuncturist reckons my BBT chart has improved.
My OH had another SA (we were pushing for potential op for varicoceles as many friends of friends of friends have had this and then went on to get pregnant after years of trying), results are due this Thurs. Apparently we'll get referred for treatment if there is nothing wrong with the SA. The alternative is for us to go private - then I wonder whether we should have just done this after a year of trying. Had I known it was going to be a long road I'd have just gone private to find out what is wrong as I really think the tests carried out by the NHS are inadequate; I had 3 tests - day 1 and 21 blood test, ultrasound and HSG - all clear so was labelled unexplained infertility.
Chelle if you've had those tests and the docs say there isn't anything more they can do then I think like me, you'll have to wait. I was advised that the CCG would not consider any patients until the 3 year mark! I wish I told the GP that we had been trying longer than we had lol0 -

Hi Lily_Rose, it is nice to hear from you. I'm sorry to hear you are so far into TTC without any definitive answers, it must be very frustrating for you. It is difficult when family and friends announce pregnancies as you want to be happy for them but can't help feeling a little bit sad for yourself. I hope the acupuncture is working for you and that it does help.
Thank you for all the information you provided about your journey, it is very helpful for me. There were a few things I had to Google, so that has helped me understand what is to come. I have had my day 21 bloods and ultrasound, but still need to have my day 1 bloods so I expect they will do these next. Hubby needs to have his SA as last time we were referred I fell pregnant so we cancelled the appointment, but then I miscarried. I haven't had HSG yet so I guess this is next. Is it painful or just uncomfortable? I have thought about going private for investigations but unfortunately will not be able to afford IVF privately. I read about TTC for 3 years before you can start proceedings on the NHS, and as I understand it a miscarriage 'resets the clock', is that right? In that case we are looking at March 2020 before that is even an option so we have pretty much ruled that out...
What are your next steps now? Are you just carrying on with acupuncture until next March?
Good luck with everything, I will keep my fingers crossed for you and please keep us updated. If you did want to be added to the lists then please let me know0 -
Hope everyone is ok. SiL announced pregnancy yesterday which I was really happy about, they have a 6 month old and it took them 4 years trying with them so know how over the moon they are. Did feel a bit uncomfortable when she was asking me how we were going and are we using the sticks etc and what pills are you taking, It did slip out us trying a few months back but I didn't really want to chat with her about it today..tried to change the subject sharpish!Swagbuckling since Aug 2016 - Earnings so far.. £55.0

Hello ladies!
I'm currently on CD29, and getting excited for our next fertility appointment on Thursday. I'm also really nervous though- in order to get my Clomid prescribed, she told me I had to get to a BMI of 35. And I got there, I actually got to like 34.6. For one bloody day!
Then it went back up by like 2-3lbs, and right now I'm currently 1lb over where I need to be with 4 days to go. And that's without taking into consideration that AF is likely to be due in a few days meaning water weight will be added on top, plus I may just need to eat/drink before my appointment (it's at 3:25pm).
I'll explain to her about the water weight, but I'm just afraid if it's nearer to 36 than 35, she won't give me the Clomid. It's already been 5 months since I last saw her, I just couldn't bear it if she turned me away again after I've been trying so hard0
