Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 13

So I woke up at 4.30am absolutely bursting for the loo but I was worried if I went then this mornings test wouldn't be so accurate so I managed to hold it til 7.30! DH had got me the clear blue digital with conception indicator and it was positive 1-2 weeks since conception which would make sense with my timings.
I'm in total shock and now completely panicking that it won't stick! I'm even a bit scared to move over to the other thread.
Rachy - I have a similar issue with Diet Coke. I drink a few cans a day. I don't drink tea or coffee so it's really the only thing I enjoy drinking but I'll need to cut right back. I honestly wouldn't worry about it causing MC, I imagine there's loads of people who don't know they are PG for ages and go on drinking stuff like that with no issues. At least you can cut down now.0 -
Pinkpetal Congratualtions are in order
it'll sink it don't worry xx
Rachy thank you. I think maybe this cycle we'll opt for relaxed/regular BD'ing and see what happens.
With regards to the caffine you should be fine at this stage. Just think some people don't know they are pregnant for months so eat/drink everything they shouldn't and have healthy pregnancy's. You can drink normal tea but just check the mg of caffine and work out your cups. Might be worth nipping on the NHS website and looking at the eat/drink list as that's what dr's will give you. XxChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Congratulations PinkPetal. Yes the stress continues into this phase. I'm on other thread as I don't want to be disrespectful to all the lovely people here but as you can see, I'm still reading and posting. I want us all to migrate.
Thanks for the reassurance ladies, will try not to panic. I have thought about all those who do not know and still drink alcohol, smoke and eat/drink what they want. I guess it's more the risk of the folic acid having been affected that worries me the most as I can cut down/cut out from now onwards to reduce any risk of MC. I am cutting out until seeing my GP. Luckily I enjoy drinking water and don't drink fizzy drinks.0 -
Thanks newthrift! Still early days so I'm trying to balance excitement with caution!
For what it's worth, we actually thought this month was a write off. We decided to do things more casually. I didn't temp like usual but still used opks. We know roughly when I usually ov so we decided to try bding every other day from cd12 to cd19. I didn't have any usual ov symptoms and I assumed I hadn't this month. Obv I was wrong! I think doing it every other day helped us relax and enjoy it more.

Thanks Rachy. I'll head over to the other thread as well as I'll probably have a million questions. Feel like this thread has been such a helpful place and I really hope everyone gets a bfp soon xx0

Congrats pink petal, another BFP! Hope all goes well for you.
Rachy, I wouldn't panic, just cut down on caffeine from now. When I was pregnant with my son, I didn't find out until 5 or 6 weeks and I'd had tea, coffee, cola, alcohol, etc (it was when wine made me feel queasy I realised my period was late!). Not sure if you can get decaf green tea, but decaf regular tea doesn't taste much different from the real stuff. And you can still have a couple of cups of green tea a day too. Everyone told me to drink peppermint tea as it's meant to help with morning sickness, but it's rank!!! Urgh! (Just my opinion of course, but uuuuurgh!) I found that diet coke made me feel sick pink petal and I used to drink it a lot too.0 -
Thanks Big5. I don't mind Peppermint Tea but couldn't use it as a substitute. Going to see my GP and ask for advice but my idea is for possibly switching to normal tea with 1-2 cups per day and then maybe a hot chocolate on an evening? I just can't live without a hot drink, giving up tea is going to be so tough but I'll obviously do anything for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.0
