Do you have a dishwasher?

Kitchen planners now suggest having two dishwashers!!. Apparently that way you always have clear surfaces.0

Before I had a dishwasher I used to have to bleach cups inside every so often to remove tea stains.
Tea stains don't happen with dishwashers, they wash so much better than by hand.0 -
We have a dishwasher - couldn't be without it. Don't have a tumble dryer and don't want one.0

I have had a dishwasher for the past 25 years. I would not be without it. It's like having a cupboard where you put all your dirty dishes and they come out clean.
I use it for the oven shelves as well, they come out sparkling.
I never feel the dishes have been cleaned properly if they are hand washed. If we have had guests and there's too much for one load, the extra plates are queued up rather than hand washed.0 -

I have the dryer too.. usually only used for airing stuff after it has been on the line.. but I cannot abide airers full of washing and radiators draped with smalls.. but we get through a LOT of laundry in here!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
After years of doing the washing up from my weekend restaurant job doing mainly sunday lunch (50 tables worth) and over 3 hours at the sink. I hate hand washing dishes with a burning fiery passion. Hate it.
So a dishwasher is essential in this household - Though there is only two of us it gets filled everyday and run in eco mode overnight.
OH drives me bonkers as he will only run it if its totally full. So if there is a single plate slot empty he will wait - so i will go to load the machine up after a dinner with several pots pans and plates to find one space.
So the nasty greasy pots have to get stacked on the side overnight. I love my OH dearly but this one trait of his has nearly been the ending of him on a number of occasions
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -

We bought one after having used one on a home exchange holiday. Wouldn't be without it now. There are two of us, we fill it up during the day, put it on in the evening, unpack it in the morning.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

This has got me thinking more. Does a dishwasher have to be on the same side as the sink?
I've had my old boiler taken out and replaced with a combi. This has left space where the water tank used to be so I could move the contents of a cupboard there and get a dishwasher fitted.
No, as long as there is a water supply and somewhere to drain into.
My dishwasher is at right angles to the sink and has the cooker and a cupboard in between. The fill pipe and plumbing run along the wall and then are connected to the sink connections.
My washing machine is in an alcove with the boiler (sounds similar to your set-up). The plumbing uses the same water pipes as the boiler and the waste goes under the kitchen floor and out to the drain.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
