I would probably end up having to load and unload it every time if I did that

Doors and walls will be back in fashion any time now, I'm certain of it.
I'm right with ya! I am not a fan of open plan. I am OK with a kitchen/diner, but not a whole downstairs that's open plan.
This looks OK, but I'm not over-keen. It doesn't look cosy and welcoming; it looks more like a house featured on a TV cookery programme.
Give me a separate lounge, kitchen, and dining room any day. Our house has a fairly large kitchen, (with a table and 4 chairs in it, so it's like a kitchen diner,) and also a lounge, and a dining room too. Also a utility, and a decent sized hallway, at the front AND at the back. And yes, lots of walls and doors!cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -
I'm on my second dishwasher so have had one for probably 16yrs all told. Wouldn't be without it , I bought my first one when I was still working full time and didn't want to spend time hand washing in my evenings and weekends, now I'm retired it only goes on every other day and we do wash pots by hand but its lovely to clear the decks and the table after eating and everything looks lovely again very quickly as all the 'mess' is in the dishwasher..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Gosh lots of people with dishwashers!!!
As I said, I have never felt inclined to have one, but each to their own.
I guess I have things that I would struggle to do without, that some folk who have a dishwasher could do without. Eg, I could never, ever be without a car, or a TV. Some people would probably not be so bothered.

Never had a dishwasher, even though we're a family of five, I couldn't be bothered to load and unload it, by the time I'd done that I could have washed a sink full of dishes anyway.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

One problem we find, having an all-in-one kitchen and living room area, is that you can't hear the tv when the washing machine's spinning, or the kettle's boiling, or when the bread machine's going.0 -
No, I don't have a dishwasher. I deliberately only have a small set of dishes so it can never pile up into a mound of dishes to wash. I'm pretty quick with getting dishes done, sometimes things need to wait a day or two for there to be enough for me to bother with - thats with 2 people in the flat. If we used a DW, I dread to think how long things would be sitting in it before it was full enough to put on:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0

There are lots of things one can struggle to do without once you already have one. A car's one of them and, for me, a dishwasher's another.0 -

Our dishwasher is so quiet the only way you know it is on is because of the light.
Problem is, the light is on the inside of the door

We rent, and haven't yet rented a property with space and/or plumbing for a dishwasher. Would love one though. As soon as we buy a place we'll get one! When I still lived with my parents they had a dishwasher so I have experienced the joy they can bring but then I didn't have the full responsibility for washing up so perhaps didn't appreciate how much easier it made things.Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0
