We just have one loo, in the bathroom. Two people living here. It's occasionally a problem if I'm having a shower and he's desperate for a number 2 but I usually ask if anyone needs the loo before I go in if I know I'm going to take a while.
Growing up we had one toilet between 3 adults and 2 children, and that toilet was in the bathroom. I don't recall it ever being a problem.
The only time I've ever had an en-suite loo was in student halls and in hotels or holiday homes.0 -
One in the main bathroom and one in my ensuite.
My daughter has decided that the main bathroom is the boys bathroom and mine is the girls bathroom so she always showers and uses the toilet in mine! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Bathroom ensuite & downstaires cloak.
Family of 5. I love having the 3 toilets my lot are never off it!0 -
One loo in downstairs shower room (already here when we bought the house), one family bathroom and one in our en suite, which we had put in 2 years ago.
We're a family of 5 but just have one DD left at home so guests use the family (DD's) bathroom for showers and either the loo in that bathroom or the downstairs one. DD is responsible for cleaning the family bathroom & I do the other two.0 -
We've got two - a downstairs loo and one in the bathroom upstairs. It was one of my requirements when we were looking for a house!0

Bathroom and downstairs loo. There's only one of me, but both were already here when I moved in. Although there was no basin in the downstairs one when I moved in, which made me go a bit _pale_ !
It's handy if I've been in the garden and don't want to faff about taking wellies or muddy shoes off. And having the second loo is useful when I have guests.
When I lived at home there were 6 of us (2 parents and 4 children) and for a while, just one bathroom. It did mean that if you wanted a really long bath you had to accept that you might have to let someone pop in to use the loo!
Then after a bit we had an extension built which included a downstairs loo, which solved that!
When my parents retired, and sort-of-downsized, they moved to a house with three - family bathroom, master en-suite and a downstairs loo.All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
We have one bathroom with one toilet in it.
There is me and 2 teens, 1 child (they are all boys).
I would love a second toilet just for myself!!
We have a very open door policy- basically if somebody needs the toilet and another one is in the shower then so be it. No privacy really. With 4 people and only one bathroom privacy is a luxury we cannot afford!!
But my boys have grown up like this so it doesnt cause any issues.0 -
We have one toilet shared between 3 housemates (other has an ensuite), cleanliness isn;t an issue as landlords wife cleans communal areas once a week
Bf has two toilets at his house, and growing up at home we had 3 (main, downstairs and parents had an en suite)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
We have 1 toilet in our only bathroom. It would be nice to have an extra toilet as there's 4 adults that live in the house. I hate having to wait for the toilet if someone is busy in the bathroom.0
