How many toilets/bathrooms does your home have?

We've got a main bathroom and an ensuite. I'd like a groundfloor cloakroom but hubby doesn't see the point.0

One upstairs and one downstairs. I have lived with just one loo but it was separate to the bathroom and therefore not a problem.
In my parents' house every bedroom has an en suite, plus there is a family bathroom, a downstairs cloakroom and an ouside loo. It just took me a while to count them up - they have seven toilets! Beyond ridiculous in my humble opinion. When I went to stay with them in their new house I discovered another bathroom on my last day that I hadn't known was there - I had thought it was a cupboard. Although come to think of it they have downsized as their previous home had ten - they are a little strange about "facilities"!
I have never lived in these houses as they became much better off after we all left home. They clearly like space....and toilets!
Seven toilets?! And they used to have TEN?! For TWO people??? That IS crazy. I think 2 toilets is plenty for most people.
You really only need 1 toilet for every 2-3 people IMO. So 2 would be fine for a family of up to 5 or 6 IMO. 6 to 9 people would need 3 I guess. And 10 to 14 would need 4 and so on...
I lived in a big HMO many years ago, and there were 13 people living there. It had 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. I never had a problem finding an empty bathroom.
A couple who moved from my parents street moved to the border of North Wales last year; they are 65. They moved into a 6 bed bungalow with five bathrooms! Not just 5 toilets, but 5 bathrooms! For 2 of them. They have 1 son and 1 grandchild, and 1 sibling each with one child each. And they all live within 10 miles of their bungalow. So it's not like they will be regularly getting dozens of people at a time wanting to stay!cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -

What??? Do you and your family members sit side by side with the paper, having a chat and a poo together?
Assume pigpen meant that there was originally a toilet separate to the bathroom and they added one in the bathroom.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We have three toilets, we also have a commode, which when turned on the side is apparently a very good pirate ship as the hole is a window come cannon hole.0

Two bathrooms (with a loo each obviously) plus downstairs loo.
There is only the two of us in this house now our kids are grown. I properly clean once a week and do a quick wipe round in between.
The shower is wiped down every day after use.
We have talked about down sizing but I think it would be difficult to get used to less space and less loos!0 -
One upstairs bathroom with toilet. One downstairs wetroom with a Closomat toilet, for my disabled son. I'd never heard of a Closomat, but it's like a toilet and bidet combined. Once you have finished your business, you press an air filled pad and warm water cleans you. When you release the pad, warm air dries you. It's given my son more independence in dealing with his personal care.
Both toilets are cleaned daily.
ETA: when the downstairs wetroom was built, there were two adults and three children (age 4, 5 and 12). Now there are three of us - myself and two teenage sons.0 -
Four, two downstairs, one is in the cloakroom, the other off the utility tom and boiler house. I could easily do without that one
Upstairs,
One off main bathroom, one in en suite, we need both.
As for cleaning? That's "his" job and he does it well!Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
We've got a toilet in our main bathroom and also one in our ensuite. We live in a bungalow, so no problem with stairs. There are just the two of us, but I do like having two toilets;)0

Three of each, one for each of us
Actually no one really uses the loo/ bathroom downstairs unless caught short. It's usually full of plants being started or over wintered. It gets cleaned when we are expecting visitors otherwise it's just a bit of bleach down the plug holes now and then to stop smells0 -
One
Had three in my last house! OMG I sooooo wish I had two. BF would be sent to second one every time! I go crazy-mental when he's desperate for the loo when I'm about to get in the bath. Or when he's dripped on the floor and my foot goes in it or whatever bottoms I roll down. YUCK YUCK YUCK. Boys are so scuzzy sometimes.
