Turkish shop was fab as expected. Bought 2 massive round breads for 60p each. Useful home items like lemons, honey, coffee etc..sat in the bakery and had spinach and meat Gozleme's & a strong coffee each. A nice treat plus groceries.
Popped into Mr T as needed nappies. Whilst there had them add on several wombled reciepts.
Used up a handful of change pot low denomination coins to buy DD a liquid filled teether from the £ shop. You chill it and then it's ready for when they have a bad patch.
Used Costalots points to buy a coffee (saving £2.50)
Have come home and put my washing on the line. Fingers crossed.
Did a basket full of shredding. It's now clear.
Added a few more items of clothing to the charity bag I keep in the porch. It's nearly full now.
Dawn there isn't that much Turkish stuff here either. It's the wrong side of the river. Stoke Newington on the other hand in North London has a massive community and the main high street is all Turkish shops.
Ally which part have you been too? We had a wonderful pre kids holiday there in 2005. A fishing village in the western med region. We went for the diving which was good. Loved the food. Tea gardens & laid back vibe. Think the highlight was Patara which had these amazing ruins and white sand beach.

I haven't done much today however I brought a cherry tree to plant in the front garden (not money saving at all!) however I then used bricks we already had in the garden to make a circle around it and then bark we also already had in the garden to cover the bare soil. Plus around 4 man/woman hours  So made quite a nice looking feature for just the cost of the tree. Whereas before I probably would have rushed out and brought everything new! ItLove my DMP left to pay £0/ £10162.51

Just popped back out to have my Mr S points put on. And found 2p in store. Plus wombled 2 belvita chocolate chip biscuit bars that they had someone giving away in the entrance. They didn't care how many they gave you really. Probably briefed to keep going till all were gone. Not sure how much they go for? Quite yummy though. Bit like a mix between a flapjack and a tracker bar.
Oh and the £10 that was sat as a refund on a credit card I no longer use, I used it via the oyster website to top up OH'S card. Saves me getting it refunded and waiting for a cheque." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi all, hope you're having a good weekend!
Today I have:
> paid in a cheque
> returned empty soda stream gas bottle (so I can get the £10 deposit back)
> weekly top up shop under budget
Then I got a nice surprise in the post today. Back in December 2014, some idiot drove into us and we ended up suffering whiplash. My claim is going to court but I got an interim payment of £1248
I'm going to pay it into savings for the moment as there is a small possibility that the court will award damages less than the interim payment, which will involve me having to pay the difference back. Once it's all settled then it will pay off a nice little chunk of credit card!
Hubs has a couple of items for eBaying sitting on my desk so I'm going to encourage him to list them. I also need to find some things to sell.
Have a great weekend! xNew total: £24,006
I will do this.0 -

We used the outskirts of Marmaris as a base in the Aegean. Loved visiting the ruins at Ephesus, getting a ferry to Rhodes Old Town and swimming off a boat.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

PurpleFairy Thank you for starting us this morning.
Today I am feeling a a lot better so I decided to get the grass cut before I wore myself out or the weather changed, I did it in 4 sections and after each I needed half an hours rest and a large glass of water which is unusual normally I can do the whole thing plus some other jobs without any problems. Children put the washing out on the line and then played in the garden for a while.
Today I have/plan to:

Dry washing on airier Just needs finishing off
Dry laundry outside Nearly dry but brought it in as the sky was looking threatening and a heavy shower happened shortly after we had retrieved everything
Keep heating to a minimum, nothing downstairs, upstairs thermostats turned down low, we have jumpers and blankets Done
Light the stove, burning free wood Done, just before I came on here
put kettle on stove for free hot water, put water in flasks if boiled before ready to use and refill kettle, water used for making hot drinks (we drink plenty of these, cooking rice, pasta etc, washing up etc) Done

Request £5.43 quidco cashback Done
Received £30 cash back for moving gas/electric suppliers, I wasn't expecting this for a few more weeks Done
Now I need to do a few more things so I can finish today's list, but first of all I need to read today's thread and a few pages of my book. I know that without this thread I wouldn't of done many of the things on today's list but I wanted to be able to mention some dfw bits and pieces to here, thank you :A:AFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

* Paint fence and decking in the garden.
Had a wonderful afternoon in the garden with OH.
OH got the pressure washer out to clean the decking and the concrete in front of the hut/shed. Both were slimy after a Winter of rain. Our outdoor tap is out-of-order but we managed to jury-rig it to run from the indoor tap with the aid of some tape and an old t-shirt. Our tap has a square spout and our tap-adapter has a round fitting. (A local man charges £15 for his pressure washing service. That's a lot. Our washer only cost us £30 last year and we'll get a lot of use out of it.)
Back fence and wee fence were painted using last year's paint. So that was free.
Decking was painted using £4.99-worth of new paint bought from B&M. Usually they sell this item at £3.99. Hmmmm.
We also went into Homebase on our hunt for cheap paint (DANGER!) but managed just to spend £1 on a couple of scruffy looking reject plants to go in our hanging basket.
OH taped an ordinary paintbrush to a long piece of wood to make painting the decking more back-friendly. Free long-handled brush.
Then we managed to sit on the sunloungers for an hour in balmy 10 degree sunshine listening to the birdsong.
