Sat 9th/ Sun 10th April - what small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

            Morning All
Thanks for the start PF
Started my day with a £10 PAD to set the tone.
Checked banking. Have a big DD going out Monday then the account should settle for a few days before the water rates. More for PADing.
Taking the children's account books to the building society today.
Won't be a NSD as I need to buy nappies and wipes. Plus we are going to our favourite shop, it's amazing. We only discovered it recently but it's a huge Turkish supermarket. I wandered in to top up my oyster card as it's near the bus stop. First impressions are of a 7/11 but it's amazing. Has a butcher in it and a bakery. They sell the big round breads, golzme's in various flavours, baklava & strong Turkish coffee for drink in.
We will be going with a budget of course. But as we've been invited for brunch at a friends tommorow I am going to buy a bread to take and maybe some of the baklava.
All the washing I've been putting in the house has dried despite it being chilly this week and no heating so that's no doubt saved money too.
Good luck with your money saving people

Thanks for the start PF
The Turkish shop sounds amazing Bob - nothing like that round here, sadly.
Looks bright and sunny at the moment, hopefully it will stay that way (but the way the weather is atthe moment, it probably won't).
Anyway, list for today:
Just claimed a £10 Amazon gift card from one of the survey sites
HG rhubarb (picked yesterday) with my porridge this morning for breakfast
Heating off
OH just gone off to do first dog walk (so I can have another cuppa
)
Need to do a shop today as we have run out of several things, so no chance of a NSD
HM meals, OH cooking today
Housework
Stocktaking (nearly done) and business paperwork
Make a cake
Make time to do something in the garden
Check surveys and FPL
I want to go to the supermarket quite early to avoid the crowds, so better get on. Hope everyone has a good day - and that it doesn't rain!

            Hi April Awesome-ees,
At last it's the weekend!
Some days I feel like a recovering (spending) addict. The fear that I might suddenly go on a spending splurge is ever present.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Eleven:
* No heating on this morning.
* Checked online banking.
* Paint fence and decking in the garden.
* Post two eBay parcels. Parcel was too heavy to weigh on kitchen scales but too light to weigh on bathroom scales.
Solution: Weight of me and the parcel on bathroom scales - Weight of me on the bathroom scales = Weight of parcel
* Claim money paid into Quidco for purchases made during Decemberfest.
How about you guys?

            Morning all
I'm still feeling a bit unwell. Nothing serious, but enough to make me feel as though I don't want to do anything. I was supposed to be visiting my mam today, but I've cancelled just in case I'm infectious, plus I can't really be bothered with the drive over there.
Thankfully, there isn't too much happening today...
 check banking and PAD

Its amazing how many DFW things you do. I do stuff now without thinking about it.
- posted an eBay sale
- went to Aldi with a list after working out what recipes I am going to do, so getting the exact items.
- returned some clothes and got a refund
- transferred Easter Egg comp winnings from Quidco to bank
- Bumped Facebook sales posts
- Checked eBay account
- Having lunch at home then off to use a free gym pass with my family...
...tomorrow don't know yet might include a walk and a picnic.
- home to parcel up eBay sales (hopefully!) and relist some more.Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -
            Afternoon all,
Not much as yet for today:
*Grocery shopping came in £4 below budget for this week.
*Took advantage of free coffees & free 'Guardian' in Waitrose.
*YS chicken pieces spotted. Now in freezer for future cheap meal.
*Am aiming to enter 4 competitions today & am trying to encourage mr f to enter one of his photos for a 5th.
*Free fitness as planning a gardening afternoon. Hope to pot up seedlings & dig over herb bed as a minimum.
*Finish knitting order. Almost there.
*Check ebay listings as some are up today & we've so far sold 4 things.
I think that will be about it. We are still agonizing over options regarding poorly car. I am considering whether to raise the loan now so it is in the account ready to go, whatever happens. Anyway, we have worked through 3 options & will wait for the verdict on Weds before applying one of them. We are willing to pay for new clutch but if it is gearbox too (it's certainly noisy) I think we'd go for just the clutch & look to change car asap. Not what we wanted but these things happen.
Ok, off to get my tatty boots on & off down to the greenhouse (my summer den).
