Have you read the definition of domestic abuse? Here is the controlling behaviour aspect:
Controlling behaviour
Controlling behaviour is a range of acts designed to make a person subordinate and/or dependent by isolating them from sources of support, exploiting their resources and capacities for personal gain, depriving them of the means needed for independence, resistance and escape and regulating their everyday behaviour.
Your idea is a form of domestic abuse.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
Well it was never my intention for this idea to be used in that way and I do apologise that I have obviously not gone about this debate in right way. In no way do I condone abuse of any kind and again I apologise.0

If I had my children permanently I would have no hesitation in showing her what I had spent the maintenance money she was paying on whether that be clothes, shoes, etc but that's because 100% of the money I received would be getting spent on the children and not my social life.
But how would you do this, that's what I'm asking.
You could show receipts for clothes, food, school trips etc but howcould you show that was her money you'd spent in that way and not money you'd received from elsewhere?0 -
The money will be benefiting the children if they are leading a safe and happy life in the mother's care. Youve not once suggested you suspect abuse or neglect of any kind, or that you think they go without. The money will be absorbed into the household to help provide a decent normal upbringing, the new partner will be helping to put a roof over their heads, should he be billing you each time he pays a bill or spends his money in the children?0

It would be to show whatever amount had been received had been spent on the children.0

Again a valid point and again I understand that yes it would work both ways like that. Like I have recently posted my argument may(is not as valid and straight forward) as I put it there are a lot of other factors involved which I should have thought about in more detail. I fully understand that this would not work and again have taken everybody's views on board especially with regard to the controlling side of things which again was never my intention and nor would I ever condone controlling another person.0

I don't want to stop my children from having the freedom of taking toys, clothes etc between houses because that would be detrimental to them. I have been to court and was granted weekend access my ex partner received custody. I couldn't stop paying maintenance because again that would be detrimental to my children. All I want is to see the maintenance benefitting my children!!
There's nothing wrong in you keeping some sports/play clothes at your home, to be honest it's sensible as you know what they get up to when you have them...0 -
Ridiculous idea. Could never be implemented.Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0

Maybe, if instead of giving cash to your children perhaps you, your Dad and Nana could give them Tokens instead.
Anticipate when your children 'need' new coats, jackets, shoes etc., and take them shopping yourself.0 -
It would be to show whatever amount had been received had been spent on the children.
As others have said how can that be determined when life and normal living is about more than just new clothes and toys.
If the kids are cared for as they should be then it's none of your business what a fiver here or a tenner goes on, the money is paid to a PWC to help provide for the children you had together. If the mother's car has just had a paint job which incidentally costs a few hundred pounds then how do you know the money you pay her specifically has paid for it? We're the children thrown out in the cold and starved that week/month or were they still looked after as usual?0
