Kettle of boiling water will see most people off, have a kettle & teabags in the bedroom let them prove that's weapon :rotfl:ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0

Do you keep it permanently boiled or are you planning on making the burglar wait for 3 minutes? Maybe you could lure them to stay by offering them a nice cuppa to warm them up for the long walk with your flat screen TV!!!!0

Everyone seems to talk a good fight but have they ever had one?0

In England and Wales, anyone can use "reasonable" force to protect themselves or others, or to carry out an arrest or to prevent crime. Householders are protected from prosecution as long as they act "honestly and instinctively" in the heat of the moment. "Fine judgements" over the level of force used are not expected, says the Crown Prosecution Service.
(The "I happened to be polishing it and a round must've slipped into the chamber by accident, honest!" approach really isn't going to hold water.)0 -

Now this I couldn't possibly comment on. I do however come from a town with a lot of Matows and Bootnecks!0 -
And therefore, by definition, using a gun is not instinctive, as you are not allowed to keep a loaded on in the house.

Yet it is still considered reasonable force in some instances!0 -

This was 4 years ago bur she still suffers from trauma and wishes she had something like a taser to use.
By the way the police victim support is only telephone support, she has tried to get some face to face help but no luck.
My girlfriend had a stalker issue at work. Someone kept calling, saying some vulgar things then hanging up. Twice she moved branches but whoever was calling kept finding out through trial and error where she was. At one point, someone came in and asked if she worked there and when someone went to get her, he ran off.
We got the police involved and they were useless to be honest. Said there was nothing they could do because whoever was doing the calls was hiding their ID (141). Yeah, we were to believe that there was no way the police could find out who called. If I was going to call David Cameron and George Osbourne and threaten them to do there job better, no doubt the police will have the "technology" then to trace a withheld call.0 -

Yes, it's easily to trace a withheld number. Not sure if it's as easy to do once it's gone through a switchboard.
I'm sorry but what's Cameron going to do about it? And it's nothing to do with Osbourne.0 -
If you're checking a building/area in the dark, you need one hand for the torch, one to open doors, so it's not always possible to have a weapon out.
The reason mags used to be good was that they were dependable. You could drop them, get them wet, and the batteries would last forever. LED torches have made them pretty much obsolete in this regard though.
I have a six cell Mag Lite, it's wonderfully over engineered.
Great torch and would be an equally good weapon0
