Sat 2nd/Sun 3rd - what small DFW things will you be doing this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning all :hello:
Ziggy am think of you just read you post on yesterday's thread, it must be so hard for you, nastiness from family members is always unnecessary, particularly when you are doing so much for you DM.
I've started a new diary over on the diary boards to keep me on the straight and narrow
My weekend will mainly look like:
Pop to market to get some fruit and veg this morning
May take girls to cheap craft session run by charity I help with, £1 each
Meals from stores, must get something out of freezer for tea
Quick fly lady around
List at least 5 items on fleabay/ local FB group
Write out all bits I need for my call to the mortgage company to arrange remortgage for when our fix ends
At least one thing off my April/annoying things list
No washing will be done this morning as its raining hard, supposed to be warmer later, if so will put a load on overnight.
Enjoy your day everyone, be back later

Thanks for the start PF
We've gone to the in laws for the weekend. They live in a lovely village by the sea so it's perfect for DS to get some fresh air on the beach and he can't wait to hit the leisure park later for swimming.
Before we left we turned the heating off for the season. £60 a month saving here we come.
We ate up all the things in the fridge that needed eating and froze anything that needed it.
We took a cheap train journey and we're collected by FIL at the station last night.
No spends on food this weekend which is great for the budget
Not an NSD today but LSD anyway
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all  Happy weekend. Thanks for the start PF
Ziggy - I am so sorry to read of all of your family problems. I wish there was something I could say or do to help. Being a carer for my dh, I have some idea of what you're going through. I agree with Bob - find out what help is available for you. I'm in touch with the carers centre local to where I live and it's good sometimes to just have someone there I can offload to. I remember very clearly my GP once telling me that the nhs would fold without the unpaid carers that nobody recognises. Much love to you...
So, bit of a lie in this morning and woken up to rain and cold.
Good job I don't really need to leave the house today if I don't want to. Well, I do want to pick up my fitbit if it arrives. Got your PM JJ - will reply once I figure out how the whole thing works.
Plans for the weekend...
:cheesy: Check banking and PAD
:cheesy: Attempt to finish mermaid blanket
:cheesy: no housework (as I did it yesterday)
:cheesy: aim for nsd
:cheesy: all meals from stores
:cheesy: relax
:cheesy: get a load of washing done
:cheesy: maybe do some school work
:cheesy: maybe ring Sky for a haggle
:cheesy: try and cheer dh up
:cheesy: spend quality time with dd while the boys are at football this afternoon
:cheesy: go out and collect my Fitbit if I get word it has arrived.
:cheesy: finish sorting through my clothes. It's one of my annoying jobs but I had to make a start on it this morning because ds has lost his football shorts. All I need to do now is make a 'keep' and 'bin' pile and I might be making more cash for clothes before I know it
Have a good day everyone :beer:Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt

I haven't caught up with the thread so hope all is ok, hugs Ziggy sorry you're having a tough time. What a shame we can't choose our family

I'm doing 4 hours overtime at work tomorrow to make the most of these extra hours before they finish at the end of the month

Hi All, especially those of you collecting wedding rings and also Ziggy, thinking of you. xx
Well I deserve to be in big trouble today and it seems I have escaped! Slept until 7, I should have been out at 5. And when I crept nervously into the shed, hurrah, all the girls sleeping and no disasters. Thank goodness.Everything now fed and watered and DS has just pulled 2 first timers babies and introduced Mums to off spring.
Love it when I get away with it! no walk of shame today for me. Although it is early and I think bacon is burning, oops.
Speak soon

Quickie: I'm in supermarket coffee shop while OH finishes grocery shopping I rudely interrupted yesterday when I had to come home from work. Feeling 2/3 ok today so came out with OH to get away from staring at four walls.
OH has photographed inside of washing machine for me to analyse. Parts will cost £90. One part we'd need to pay someone to fit. Decided to buy new machine for £180 as old machine is 14 years old.Talked AO.com into taking away old machine for nowt instead of £25. And the biggest miracle?...OH will be paying half the cost of New machine as she has disposable income for first time in 5 years!

Morning all,
Loving the insights into rural life Marie! Am glad your 'lay in' didn't lead to any disaster. Felt positively lazy as I read your post though, I couldn't do 5am daily.
I'm at that bit after you have been ill where you are not quite up to full strength, but its mainly a feeling of being overwhelmed at all the things I need now to start picking up again that is holding me back - more of a gloom than a illness today. I'm kind of glad for that reason its a weekend rather than a day thread today. Gives me half a chance to catch up! REST UP ALLY!- Aiming for NSD's today (and either Sunday/Monday - need fuel) unless jobs dictate otherwise. Saturday - NSD in the bank

- Out for a walk in the wilds tomorrow but meeting a mate who has a camper. Going to suggest we brew our own cuppas in it at the end, and avoid the coffee shops/pubs. He's all for that
- Aiming to complete 2 tasks (timetable;invite list) for a charity event, plus 2 emails that need to be sent regarding it. If I can do that we will have caught up a lot with a big backlog. Part done. More to come tonight/tomorrow.
- Bobs post has reminded me that I live blooming close to the beach, and should go smell the sea air if I am feeling gloomy. Just got to balance that with the orange fuel light being on in the car! Def need to get some fresh air though! Walk - 7400; will add to it before end if the day. fresh air did me good, but just went from home rather than drive to beach.
- Mortgage rate review/switch meeting was due to happen today but bank computers are down. Hoping he will ring back later when fixed. Be nice to get that in hand. Yeee-har. Not only can they give me a much better rate, they can also apply it to the extension I recently applied for, as its lower than that was too. Paperwork coming through this week.
- Filing of paperwork an essential part of clearing up lounge. Have guest coming on Monday, should spur me on really! Not touched this yet
- All meals from stores, however random. Have still got all the stuff I had planned from yesterday to eat up today. Its been random - fried-past-their-best-cherry-toms on toast with shavings of very out of date but ok parmesan for lunch, then mash, tiny portion of chilli, leftover leeks for dinner. Have put 4 portions of mash in the freezer too, and salvaged 2 big spuds that look ok for jacketing. .
- Due a bit of pamper time - going to try to use up some beauty products with a bath and movie night tonight. Not feeling very sociable at all, as seems there are so many pressures from family & friends at the mo! Best to go with it for a few days I think, and maybe try a couple of phone calls to mates. DD back midweek so I will be myself again then.
- Going to venture into the loft as a part of the big clear out (it needs to be emptied in about 3 weeks). OMG. Just realised how busy this month is going to be. EEEEKKKKK. Still eeekk
- Expenses forms. Also hanging over me causing stress. Going to do them this weekend, then its done! still eeeekk
0 - Aiming for NSD's today (and either Sunday/Monday - need fuel) unless jobs dictate otherwise. Saturday - NSD in the bank

Morning all,
Late finish at work so only just woke up.. No money spent yesterday so very happy about that. At least being at work keeps me from spending money lol.. But I have the day off today woohoo...
So things to do:
1) definitely going to list at 3 things on ebay - don't post until a Thursday as like to go for 10 day listings but I don't enjoy doing this so do a couple at a time lol
2) continue decluttering as have far too much stuff - hopefully find a few things to put in ebay pile as well
3) put a couple of things on gumtree
4) may have to buy a bottle of wine for myself later for tonight but if I do will be one for £5 - just as a treat but I know not very DFW
5) continue through my box of papers - my aim is to throw the box away as everything should be filed/shredded
6) work tmrw so hopefully no money spent
Hope everyone has a lovely weekendDebt outstanding [STRIKE]£3491.[/STRIKE] £3303

Hi April Awesome-ees,
So OH is being "me" today so we can attend to a few matters.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Ten:
* OH spent £5 in Iceland from RM Surveys on luxury food. I convinced her that cheesecake might be crucial to my recovery...
* Unplumbed the old washing machine. Cleaned behind it. Yikes! Re-papered the wall behind it using a £1 roll of paper from the bargain bin, that has a Frozen Elsa design. Good grief. No-one will see it, it's just to keep the manky wall away from the washing machine. Wallpaper paste was from stores.
* Advertised old gas barbecue on Gumtree. Should make £20.
* Re-listed OH's camer-ma-bob on eBay for free.
* Quick whizz around the house with Stardrops and washable cloths.
* Blitz kitchen and inside oven door with Stardrops and washable cloths.
What you all planning?
