    Morning All

Off to the caravan today until Wednesday so will probably be quite a spendy few days. DD has already said we'll go the cafe for tea one day with nana, Wetherspoons another day and cafe for breakfast on the last day like we always do - yes we do when we go for 2 weeks in August not when we just go for 3 nights!!

However, I'm taking my laptop so I'll still try to do some swagbucks, etc while I'm there but other than that I may be struggling a bit.

    Have a good day all

Hugs to anyone who wants one

  • Yay, I've finally made it back! Life has been hectic and I've missed you all. There are a few names I recognise and lots of new names that I don't. I'm sure I'll get to know you all soon enough.

A quick update from the world of the witch...
Still living in my flat in a converted chapel in a Wiltshire village, still working every hour I can running a business that I love and still have my mad puppy who is now 19 months old and showing no signs of growing up.
Grandma duties have increased with the addition of three more babies since June, including Josiebabie giving birth to DD2 on Easter Monday. For those that remember her, both Jo and the baby are doing well and Jo is back logging on to her work laptop and sorting out 'her boys' time sheets and payroll etc. Ever the workaholic that girl!!

I seriously need to get back on the DFW wagon and clear my credit card debt. I have the smallest income imaginable and rely heavily on in-work benefits so clearing the debt would make a huge difference to me (I currently pay £200 a month off it:eek:)

    Today's small things then:
    • Breakfast and lunch from stores
    • Dinner at friend's house later
    • Washing done at 30' and hung out to dry
    • Took dog out for an hour's run - no gym for me!
    • Fill up up car at local garage having a cheap fuel weekend
    • Stitch and stuff 10 cushions for a pub
    • Finish knitting pink baby bolero

Just a little listy to ease me back in gently :rotfl:
    Back later,

Go gently Maria whatever you decide to do.

CCL sorry to hear about OH. I really feel for you. I am glad he is going back to the docs.

I am in the mood for a bit of cleaning so thats whats going on here. No heating on though the house does feel a little chilly. I am also going to clean the fire out one last time as we dont have much coal left and there is no point in buying more.

Going to do some washing up by hand instead of using the dishwasher, washing out on the line, tea in slow cooker.

We are going to buy DS1 a new telly with some of the Sky money saved. DH said "shall we put it on the Argos card". No we shall not, it will come out of the emergency fund and be replaced. I set them a budget of £150 max and they have found one reduced for £140.

Oh and have just texted a friend as DS was there last night and they had a takeaway. I forgot to offer any money for DSs share when I collected him and now feel a bit bad about it.

Hi StitchingWitch I do remember you and your daughter but hadn't realised you were :) not sure how I missed that. Congratulations on your new granddaughter.

legomum sounds familiar. MIL and FIL have a bit of a scratchy relationship which at times is slightly uncomfortable for outsiders (although I've been in the family for 16 years now) have had a lovely weekend and now looking forward to my own home :)

    Morning all :hello:

Ziggy am think of you just read you post on yesterday's thread, it must be so hard for you, nastiness from family members is always unnecessary, particularly when you are doing so much for you DM.

I've started a new diary over on the diary boards to keep me on the straight and narrow :D

My weekend will mainly look like:
Pop to market to get some fruit and veg this morning
May take girls to cheap craft session run by charity I help with, £1 each
Meals from stores, must get something out of freezer for tea
    Quick fly lady around
List at least 5 items on fleabay/ local FB group
Write out all bits I need for my call to the mortgage company to arrange remortgage for when our fix ends
At least one thing off my April/annoying things list
No washing will be done this morning as its raining hard, supposed to be warmer later, if so will put a load on overnight.

Enjoy your day everyone, be back later

What is on an irritating job list?
I have advertised 20 things on eBay and Facebook, sold 4 items so far.
Paid £200 off a CC with the sales money.
Bought coffee with loyalty points earned and wombled.
    Entered loads of competitions.
Re-gifted 3 things and got reduced price cards from Clintons.
Cleared through my bedroom draw to find things that don't "bring me joy".

    Hello Frugalistas,
Awoke early & lay there for an hour stressing about the car, which once I'd got into proper stressy mode, grew into stressing about the house, Mr f's job, the state of the country, you name it......until I realised everything would instantly look better if I got up & did something instead of lying in bed over thinking worst case scenarios. Once up & about, it's been quite a positive money saving day:
*Read yesterday's free newspaper & ate my free cream egg.
*Listed 5 items on eBay & relisted the old unsold ones to maximise April being free listings month.
*Weeded garlic bed & adjusted insect mesh to keep horrible onion leaf miner pest out after last year's raids.
    *Planted out my broad beans.
*Mr f did 2 jobs on the Annoying Things list & I did one. Mine took approx 10 seconds to do.....why DO we keep putting off such silly little tasks? We spend more time being annoyed by them than it would actually take to do them. This particular Annoying Thing had been annoying me for about 8 years!!!
*Tended veggie plantlets. Must pop out & fleece them in a minute......future food supplies (using old muslin curtain for free fleece).
*Washer loaded for overnight laundry on cheap tariff.
*Two baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Energy meters read & spreadsheets updated.
*Towel radiator turned off. Will now run overnight on cheap rate if towels need drying.
    *Tomorrow's packed lunch made.
*Continue planning my Facebook selling page (for my handknitted gifts) Mr f thought of a name which I like. Shall enjoy tasking photos for cover/profile pics, but need to crack on with it.
*Finish my knitting order. I've done two thirds of it now.
So after a stressy start, with the anxiety levels building into that almost tangible lump around the solar plexus, it turned out to be quite a pleasant, useful day. I need to sort out some money stuff regarding the Horrible Car Noise tomorrow, but that's another day & will be a more practical approach than chronic over thinking.
    Love to all,
    F x

In my case: An Annoying Job is any of those wee jobs you keep putting off and never get around to which makes you cross with yourself because it'll probably only take 5 mins to do it. This idea came from the very wonderful Foxgloves.

Well done on rescuing the situation.

I have kind of done a similar thing. Woke up feeling weak, resigned myself to the fact nothing would get done until I felt stronger, allowed myself four hours kip in front of the tv (which OH was watching), had a bite to eat and have finally got the momentum going to start the list.
