So we’re away on our jollies. Obviously not the most frugal of times, but we’ve saved a holiday pot and are using that. Accommodation paid for in advance at a very decent rate. We’re SC so that’s where lots of money is saved rather than eating in restaurants etc so not all extravagant. Stopped at a SM and bought a box of ice creams yesterday :money:
I’m still waiting on a refund from an amaz0n item. Annoyingly my account was saying it would be processed by today and when I’ve checked today it now says it’ll be processed when they’ve received it. Which I know they have!
Oh well, in other news £3 £co payment and £30 delay repay have got my account today :T meaning I’ve hit my 1p target with a third of the year to spare. Will ponder today what the best thing to do with it is.
We’re off to the beach, going to make some sarnies to take. Have a good day all. Purps.0 -

Thanks cat we had a fab time. Although I do love sleeping in my own bed and being back in my own space0 -
We had a lovely time away, didn't go over budget despite eating well and having a few ice creams
But, back home we are and as it's nearly September  time to focus on a few things. Once I've got over the holiday washing and putting away (which will be today thanks to the fab weather) I need to (in no particular order and not necessarily today or even this week) :
Get a haul of blackberries in the freezer
Sort out smalls clothes
Double check school clothes
Start thinking about a few festive gifts
Mow the lawn and tidy the garden
Meal plan for the next few weeks and make a shopping list
Do some decluttering
Run 3 times a week
Get holiday things away in the loft
Right, off to get coffee and scrap paper to start menu planning. Enjoy the sunshine peeps.0 -
I agree - it's lovely being away but there's no place like home. Pleased you enjoyed it.Not giving up

So yesterday was very productive. I managed:
A nap :rotfl:
Sorted 2 boxes of smalls clothes out of wardrobe. 1 for selling, 1 for saving for other small.
Prepped jam
Made a cake
Sorted school clothes :T
1 small almost finished homework, other one about 50% there
DH mowed half the lawn and did a tidy up
Spent our vouchers that we didn't know we had on a jolly haul. Bought a couple of things we wouldn't normally get
Back to the routine today. Think it will do us all some good.
Next few months will have some decisions to be made, colours, carpets and fittings. The build is really starting to take shape :T must do plenty of research on the next thing. Not quite sure what that is, but has seemed to have done us well so far on the cooker and shower. Probably something dull like an extractor fan, oh well, needs must :rotfl:0 -
Hmm, so that jam caught on the pan when I made it so will need to do a taste test today to see if it needs chucking
also need to save burned pan, have put it to soak overnight with washing powder
Another tweak made to the kitchen design, may swing by place later and have another look at the range we've chosen just to be doubly sure. One thing I've come across whilst doing the build is how much people just don't listen. I know they see lots of people and lots must just not buy from them in the end but good grief. Recent examples:
Lady in kitchen place - what colour carcasses do you want. Me - oak. Sends it through, I've put white carcasses. Me - can I have shelves in X spot Lady - I've put doors there. I could go on....
All it created was me having to go back to them and say, can you remove the doors and change the carcasses....
Nearly mid month in our budget and holding out nicely considering we've been away. Don't have much on for the next couple of weeks so we should be able to get to end of our budget month ok. Continuing to eat from freezer, today will be YS stewing steak in SC.0
