Managed to carry on with running, sticking with 3 a week which is really positive.
DH wages did arrive the next day. All shuffled to the right places. Not much happened on build this week, which is a little annoying given the good weather. Hopefully there will be something today and tomorrow.
Managed to get a £10 voucher for mr t for £5. Will keep an eye out for some more if I get the email again.
Bought some much needed clothes for us in a sale yesterday, will be ruthless when they arrive though if some aren't quite right. One of the items was a pair of shoes the same that I bought last week but over 50% off, so I'll take the others back today. I've not worn them or taken the tags out.
Also need to get holiday insurance, just want to check valuables on house insurance policy as I don't want to either double insure or not have enough cover.0 -
Holiday insurance bought, just need to pop to PO later this week for some eur0s and we'll be good to go :T
Surviving until payday will be a bit squeaky again this month, however, we've overpaid our loan again this month and wanted to do it up front rather than seeing what was left iyswim. That's said after this week of work and school, we've only 3 days until payday to survive so hopefully it won't be too much of a stretch. Given we've food in the freezer, we'll just need some fruit and veg (and decent planning) to see us through.
Lull in the build, stuff still being done but lots of interdependence from one person to another (which thankfully I'm not juggling :rotfl:).
A few surveys found and £50 waiting for me at £co when I logged in last week, should be arriving tomorrow.
Expenses arrived yesterday and paid them straight to CC despite account looking poor, false economies and all that if you are not strict with yourself.
Smalls clubs tailing off for the summer, which is a nice break from the routine.0 -
Purps - I agree about allocating overpaynents/extra bits of savings at the beginning of the month.... I know from experience that they usually won't be there at the end!

Totally agree Foxgloves. Pay yourself first is my new motto.
Sounding good PF, well done on the running x0 -
We've been away so have been a bit absent for my diary. No progress on the build whilst we wait for something to be made to order for the next bit. Hoping today or tomorrow may see some progress.
I have some fiddly jobs to do today, 3 returns to 3 different places, I want to pop to the library, work out how to sign up so I can go in when it's unmanned. I have some PPI forms to sign, not hopeful but worth a shot.
Plus I need to do some work
On the money front, accounts all straight with payday looming. Will do big money shuffle tomorrow and top up all the pots :T0 -
Fingers crossed for the PPI. We didn't think we had a chance but got a result on 3, so it's worth trying for sure!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
MFW (08/08) £118k Gone (09/23)0 -
Hope it’s all going well for you PF x0

Pay day shuffle all done and money in right pots. We're also trying something new and have set up a joint account just for food. We track it currently and have done for a couple of years but physically seeing what it left in the pot will hopefully focus the mind a bit more as it's just getting more and more expensive.
PPI Forms have finally been signed and will go in post tomorrow or Friday.
I've had an e mail saying I've £75 of loyalty vouchers for somewhere that need to be used by end of August. They have changed their loyalty scheme and you have to use the old vouchers. I have absolutely no idea how I have that much as we've never spend any sort of volume of money there (literally a few £ a year) but I'm not arguing. Will look on their website to see what might be available - but will need to go to a store to purchase. Must not forget to spend.
Want to meal plan for next week, use up what's in freezer as a start. Lots of random pots of things in there.
Have a few annoying returns to sort out. Need to print some forms off. I have just e mailed myself at work to remind me. However, the money back in my account won't be annoying so I best get on with it.0 -
Still a lull in the build for reasons I won't bore you with :rotfl: however man came to measure windows and doors yesterday which is exciting. The only good thing about the lull is it's given us time to really consider we want to do with kitchen and bathroom
Small shop done hopefully it'll stretch until we go away for a few days next weekend.
Made 4 jars of jam this week. If we go berry picking again this week I'll make some more or look out for cheap wonky fruit in the sm. tastes so much nicer than shop bought.
We've 1 plum on our tree. Shouldn't take me long to work out what to do with it :rotfl: but 1 better than none0 -
I've been thinking about getting started on this year's jam making too, PF. All this rain has caused a bit of a growth spurt in the rhubarb patch, so before I start to look like a rhubarb muffin, I'm thinking I might do a bit of jamming.
