LPS sent me harassment texts

Options
Hi guys,

I need your help as I am not sure what I'm supposed to do. I've got tickets in few months back after I got 5 PCN for parked my car in a private car park as I have lived here all of my life. I received letters from LPS and their debt collector crap letters and I ignored them. Then I got a very nice surprised SMS messages that I got from the LPS in few weeks back. They sent me the SMS texts to required me to contact them or they take legal action against me. I have ignored them but they keep sending me the SMS text every 5 or 6 days to keep pesting me to cause me an harassment.

Here is what they have sent me:
Chris,URGENT,your PCN is under review. To
prevent possible legal action against you, please
call us immediately on 03332005341 ref XXXXXX
to discuss your options

I don't know how they got my mobile number from and I don't know how they found it. I'm furious and angry as they are cause me an harassment. I can't believe how they keep sending me the text messages on my private number which this is for my private use and I don't want anyone else to have my number. I don't know what I am going to do as I can't block them.

Any advice would be much appreciate.

You are just caught up in a scammers web.
    As said IGNORE.

And put that number, 03332005341 on
    Telephone Preference Service
The free opt out service enabling you to record your preference on the official register and not receive unsolicited sales or marketing calls.

Get all your friends to do the same as it alerts the system meaning these idiots will sooner or later find they are going nowhere. You are doing a service to everyone who comes against these scammers. Bad Ignorant Low Life

But, it only covers voice calls not text so the advice is that as they are unsolicited text, you text back with 'opt-out' If they ignore that, OFCOM is your answer

OFCOM are hot on harassment so read here

    What is the law?
It is against the law for anyone to send you spam texts unless you have previously given them permission. So ... London Parking Solution BEWARE, Fines can run into tens of thousands, could actually destroy your business ?

You are clearly getting spam/scam/threatening text messages

Go and blow these scammers out of the water

Is not a complaint to the A.T.A. in order?

Yes, good idea as long as you have the number the text came from

Thank you for your advise, I'm going to block them on my phone to stop them sending me harassment texts and I'm going to report it to OFCOM and ICO on Tuesday as I can't do it on Monday.

What would happens when I report it to them what they would do about it?

As for using telephone preference service, do I need to send the text 'opt-out' to that number (cant give the number out due to he will track the number on google to find my post on here) that I got on my phone?

Do you mean that when I send the 'op-out' text and if he ignore and keep sending me the unsolicited text, I need to make a complaint to OFCOM and ICO?

How I can send the text 'opt-out'? do I need to send on my phone or on tps site?

TPS cannot help over unwanted texts - they deal with unsolicited phone calls (sales and marketing).

Debt collectors chasing you doesn't come into that category!

7726 ("s" "p" "a" "m") supposedly deals with spam texts - again yours isn't spam from the debt collector, and a text/call blocker app on your phone should prevent them getting through

    What?

What it make you think I don't get a spam from the debt collector?

Actually, I keep getting the same texts over and over to ask me to phone them. The spam can be anything that is included sending the same texts over and over, claims management like personal injury claims, debt management like debt collector. What it is called a spam.

    READ THS!

    What is a spam text?

A spam text is a text message sent to a mobile phone marketing a particular product or service.

These texts can have many purposes. For example:

Claims management – these mainly concern personal injury claims and claims for mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI).

Debt management – these messages offer various types of debt management services.
