'Luxury' new build flat - no shaving points or bathroom mirrors

I am in the process of buying a new build 'luxury' apartment in North London. In the marketing brochure, the word 'luxury' is used regularly.
I'm close to seeing the flat completed, however I've recently noticed that the developer is not putting mirrors or shaving points into either of the en suite bathrooms. Whilst these items were never referenced within the brochure, I figured that these were generally 'hygiene factors' in any new build flat. It feels like the developer is cutting corners by not including these things.
I've obviously highlighted this to the developer, but was informed that 'if it's not in the brochure, you won't get it', or words to that effect.
Does anyone else have experience of this? Would you expect these things as standard in a new build flat, particularly if paying over £500k for 2 bedrooms, or are my expectations unrealistic?
I'm sure these things can be addressed once I compete, but it will sadly mean additional time and expense, when it feels like these things should have been included in the first place.

You're right - perhaps they should have branded them "Shabby" or "mediocre". The word luxury is banded about a lot in new build properties - it doesn't mean it is going to be because it's such a relative term and open to interpretation.
When buying off plan, you will get (hopefully) what the plans show you're getting - plug sockets in places as shown on the plans etc. If there were no shaving points or pre-installed mirrors on the plans then they wont deviate from the plans.0 -
What do shaving sockets and bathroom mirrors have to do with hygine?
I would only expect these items (regardless of how much I was paying) if a) they were mentioned in the brochure, b) they were in a show home, c) most importantly shown on the plans.0 -
I didn't really think people used shaving points any more, the males (albeit not great in number!) I know charge their electric razors through a normal plug socket. I may be missing something, but I would consider a shaving socket a bit dated.
I would have expected a mirror to be fitted into the bathrooms.
I once bought a 'luxury' penthouse, but it was not as luxury as it looked! As much as I loved the flat, once you looked behind the shiny surface a lot of corners had been cut.0 -
Along with "natural", "luxury" has got to be the most overused word in advertising. They are an EYESORES!!!!0

Not sure how ubiquitous it is, but the razors (and electric toothbrushes) I've seen recently have had 2-pin plugs, so a dedicated bathroom socket would be the most sensible place to charge them.0 -
Who uses shaving points these days, really? I've only ever seen them in hotel rooms, never in anyones home.
As for a bathroom mirror, I'd much rather be able to choose my own than have a bog-standard one put in by the developer.0 -
I'd expect both these days, whether 'luxury' or otherwise.0

We use ours for the electric toothbrush and OH's electric shaver. If the house had not come with them as standard, I would have had them installed by the builders as they're very useful.0

I use a shaving socket all the time. I charge my razor, my clippers and my electric toothbrush, all of which have the special 2-pin plug.0

The only thing luxury is the price you're paying...0
