I can see that shaver sockets don't do a lot for the modern minimalist look. However, I think they are necessary. I would expect to have one of those bathroom units with built in shaver socket in a new bathroom. Ideally with a mirror on the front lol

Not necessary at all. My electric toothbrush is charged via an adapter in a normal socket.

Can't abide shaver sockets. I think they look naff.

I have a shaver point which I charge my toothbrush. I had no mirror in the bathroom (built 2009) and got the one on my wall cabinet.

My parents have a bathroom and en-suite. Both shaver points are badly positioned - ok if you use the shaver with the charging cable.

Dad has a couple of 2 pin adapter plugs to charge toothbrush and shaver.

I bet the other plugs have USB ports to charge mobiles, tablets without wasting an entire plug?

Hipsters don't need shaving points - are you sure you're cool enough to even buy this place?

Are you saying that they've invented a beard trimmer than runs on sheer animal magnetism?

TBH, they're calling flats being put up on grotty corners of an A-road 'luxury' around where I am, so I wouldn't put much stock in the title. All luxury means these days is 'not shared ownership or housing association'.

I rent a new build flat, has a shaving point but the building management co sent round a letter to warn about leaving toothbrushes plugged in(also about not using candles, door mats, deep fat fryers or cillit bang) causing them to burn out.

The bathroom mirror is above the toilet set in a recess behind the only shelf making it only practical for people taking selfies and not those trying to shave, do their hair or put in contact lenses. So putting up your own in a sensible place like above the sink seems a much better option to me.

Sorry but for hygiene reasons I would not leave a toothbrush in the bathroom. Here everyone leaves them in their rooms to charge. As for electric razors, are they really that popular? I also wouldn't want a random mirror from the developer.

Why not? that's where they get used so why wouldn't you store them in there??

Maybe not in the toilet, but not in the bathroom why? Unless (maybe I am reading too much into your post) you live with people you dont know and worry what they do to your toothbrush while you are out.

A mirror i would want to choose myself, but there are shaver points in all bathrroms in the house a bought a few years ago and they are used every day. Not sure i would have said was vital before this house, but would not want a house without one now.
