No Buying Unneccesary Toiletries April 2016

So, I am on the naughty step. Bought more perfume. My addiction for it has really taken over my addiction to nail polish it seems. Sigh.
I think I am going to treat myself to a bottle of the new L'Occitane Violette and Rose Mai perfume as I tried some last week and it smelt gorgeous. I have had a bonus at work this month so determined that I should see something from a small part of it. I don't think perfume has taken over my polish addiction though. I posted on I'm a Beauty Geek about whether she knew of a dupe for Off With Her Red (Amore at the Grand Canal thought a beautiful colour is not a dupe) and the blogger has given me a recommendation so I'll be "investing" in a bottle of OPI too when I get paid.
I had a sort out yesterday in that I emptied the Elemis kit that I received for Christmas out and used the big jewellery type box that it arrived in for storing my lacquers in so they are now all standing upright. I actually used 3 of these boxes for the whole collection grouping together dark colours in one, light colours in another and non-OPI and minis in the last. Still a little room for some more!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I have a uu
Philosophy Amazing Grace EDT 60ml - WBA and already have more in the stash - I really love the scent, it is very different.
My cuticles are in a bit of a state so I am going to do a manicure tonight after soaking them and apply some Liz Earle Superbalm for the next couple of weeks. I will also repaint them with Ciate Shooting Stars as it is a very forgiving nude.
I too love Philosophy Amazing Grace though I only have a bottle of Pure Grace at the moment. Both smell similar though Pure is more akin to Yankee Candle Clean Cotton smelling.
I think I'm going to get some Lush Lemony Flutter next time I am there for my cuticles. Mine are better than they were. The only oil I have in my stash is one I got from BirchBox but I'm wary of using it on my nails after the effects of the Elemis one.
I too am wearing a nudey colour : OPI Chillin Like a Villain. Not overly keen on it so have topped it with Pirouette my Whistle. Yes, it is still going strong.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I've heard this too. I absolutely love my Avon Glimmersticks brow pencil although at the moment I'm alternating between this and the Hi Impact Brow kit I got with my Look Fantastic box. The colours in the kit are all in powder form. I think the only gel one I've tried is Benefit Gimme Brow and I don't think I could control how much product I managed to apply. I used to love Smashbox Brow Tech in its old form as well (pallette with wax and powder) but they've discontinued this format.
I am still on the hunt for HG drugstore or cheaper mascara. The ones that I've tried and really loved are Clinique Lash Power and YSL Baby Doll due to the brushes being thinner. The Maybelline Falsies that I'm using at the mo is not a winner. The formula is very wet but then clumps easily after application!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Two INs for me:
1. No 7 Skin Illuminator in Peach 30ml. This was reduced to £4 and it is BEAUTIFUL, just the right amount of "shine", weird brush applicator that I'm not a fan of though. I'm guessing it is discontinued from the price though - grrr.
I've used this product in the pink shade. The brush is a nightmare and gets gunky very quickly. I ended up cutting the tube open and decanting it to a pot.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I went to a large Boots in Edinburgh today and raided the clearance section so have a few (8 - whoops) INs to declare:
S&G Sugar Crush Sweet Lime and Vanilla Musk Fragrance Mist 100ml - Bought for £1.75, normally £7.
S&G Orangeasm Green Mandarin and Bergamot Fragrance Mist 100ml - Bought for £1.75
S&G Smoothie Star Body Spray 100ml - Bought for 70p, normally £4.
S&G Orangeasm Body Spray 100ml - Bought for 70p
Boots Extracts Strawberry Body Scrub 400ml - Bought for £2, normally £6.50.
Boots Botanics Mediterranean Eden Pampering Treats (includes 250ml Smoothing Body Polish and 300ml Luxuriously Rich Body Butter) - Bought for £5 (just checked and only £2 reduction but still nice to treat myself)
Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in 020 Rio Rush - Bought for £2. It's normally £7.99 so I couldn't resist giving this a go.
I'm afraid I'm guilty of not being able to resist a few bargains. But I have to say I did manage to resist some temptation today - tried out a few scents in Primark but never bought any and usually I buy a lot of stuff just 'cause it's cheap (well I sprayed a tester on my hand and the staying power wasn't up to much). With the S&G stuff, I only ever buy it on clearance anyway. Oh and I avoided purchasing yet another cheap candle.
Well done on your bargains. I shopped my stash for a new shower gel this morning as I'm a bit bored of using the L'Occitane Bon Merre Soap I have on the go and pulled out a full sized L'occitane Verbena shower gel. I noted that my shower gel stash has depleted considerably which for me is amazing. I have four full sized bottles in my drawer: Philosopy Christmas Cookie (Emma's), 2 x Soap & Glory that I got in the OOTW kit and also from the Clearance Shelf and the second ABC Tea Tree wash that I got in the TSV. We are now hopeful that Emma will go to Uni this year and I'm planning on stashing these kind of items for her to save her some funds when she is an impoverished student so I may be in the market for a new shower gel once the Verbena or Rose soap is UUed.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Hope you soon feel better evilsquid.
I have another UU: John Freda Frizz Ease Shampoo. New HG. Another in stash as I bought multiples not so long ago. Only gripe is that the tubes don't last very long.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. evilsquid - I use Sleek Brow Gel and it is very good, the brush is very small and does a good job.
VALM - you'll be Pirouetting Your Whistle forever by the sounds of it.
maddie - Yes Benefit do still do Dandelion, I wear it as a blush for work and I love it.
Lucia - well done on your bargains.
I have some uu's
Weleda Oat Replenishing Conditioner 250ml - WNBA, DD used this up as it wasn't good enough for my dry curls.
Bobbi Brown Eye Cream - this was just a sachet but it lasted ages, I rather liked it but WNB.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
Fashion on the Ration 28/660 -
5 ins to declare - lush order arrived.
2x godmother soap - these have that lovely candy scent like snow fairy, however I'm a little disappointed that they are more of a long thin sliver type of shape than the other soaps I've bought from the lush kitchen, purely because they won't fit onto my soap dish by the sink so well
1 x I should coco soap - smells lovely too and thankfully is that normal standard soap shape!
1 x Turkish delight roulade sample
1 x go faster feet foot lotion sample - will take this to my work sleep in tonight and try it out
I know it sounds silly fussing about the shape of soaps, but I like things to fit neatly on my soap dish. I always pick out the soaps in store that have that standard soap size and shape, with the exception of karma which is a triangle shapeNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

Thanks so much for all the well-wishes everyone! It's appreciated
I'm sure I'm being a worrywart but it's hard to stop thinking about certain things once they're mentioned, even if the docs are just ruling things out and being cautious.
Sorry to hear about your own problems Gemzie121. My knee, along with various other joints, will be a lifelong problem but shouldn't be degenerative - just a lot of peaks and troughs with it. I'm generally fairly pragmatic about it but, sometimes, I just need a moan! Same to you: if you ever want a chat...
No UUs today but a TA and some sales!
TA Lush Rub Rub Rub solid scrub. This had gone really weird and, ironically, the surface had gone very smooth. Will stick with the pot version in future.
Also sold 9x Flamingo Candle Wax Melts on ebay. Am planning to try Candle Belle ones instead once I've got through a few more scented tealights.
Hope the weather isn't as miserable for all of you as it is here!:)0 -
Two birthday INs:
Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm
TBS Seaweed Day Cream
Had all the seasons in one day today - rain, wind, sun, hailstones, snow (!) and now back to sun.
Had a rubbish month - not really kept to using things up ... but not many INs, so not all bad.0
