we are in the same situation and can only get 19 freeview channels via our tv/aerial
the reason for this in our case is that our TV signal is received from a relay station rather than a main mast, viewers that receive a signal from the main mast get the full freeview channels but they would not spend the money to upgrade the relay station so it will only carry 19 freeview channels
maybe we are in the same area? My nearest transmitter is apparently Stockland Hill, 27km away. Doing the digital test linked earlier I think I'd get more channels from Mendip which is 45km away.0 -

Both Stockland Hill and Mendip are main stations and therefore transmit all the MUXs (channels).
If you are on a relay station of Stockland Hill then it is likely that it is transmitting the reduced number of MUXs (channels).
To receive a relay station generally the rods of your receiving aerial will be vertical, whereas for a main station they tend to be horizontal (there are exceptions!).
Relay stations carry the reduce number of channels due to a lack of frequencies - it's nothing to do with cost.0 -
Just been in touch with BT to see what the price will be after today's offer ends, they say they cannot tell me as it's classified and to just look out for a new offer price tomorrow.
This has left me intrigued as to whether they are offering a cheaper price again, so I'll wait and see.0 -

True, but it gives me time to see what kind of offer Sky can come up with after I cancel them. Then hopefully I can use that to persuade BT to offer me a better deal.0 -

It was just that i was about to swap to that package if it was indeed £46 all in but BT said no .0 -
