Switching to BT / Freeview from Sky

Sounds like your aerial is aligned on a relay station which does not broadcast the full range of MUX's. Check with neighbours and look at where their aerials are aligned, because you may be able to switch to a main transmitter instead. Or check with your local aerial installer. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I'm getting a local aerial installer round to have a look for me.
Thanks for the help.0 -

I'm reluctant to, but want to take advantage of BT's offer which expires at the end of today! Do you think I can still negotiate this with BT after the deal has expired?0

To be honest, I don't understand why you have rejected the possibility of moving to Freesat. You already have a dish in place and the cost of a new PVR decoder would be swiftly recouped if you've been paying £100 a month to Sky.0 -
I still want the Premium channels BT are offering, which is why I want to switch to BT TV rather than freesat.
Overall, my plan is to have BT TV, Netflix and occasionally Now TV for Sky Sports/Entertainment passes.0 -

Thanks for the link - looks like I can only get 19 freeview channels at my address, which sounds a bit rubbish!
Any other way to watch these freeview channels through my TV? I guess my old Sky box will still work as a freesat box but will I be able to record on it?
we are in the same situation and can only get 19 freeview channels via our tv/aerial
the reason for this in our case is that our TV signal is received from a relay station rather than a main mast, viewers that receive a signal from the main mast get the full freeview channels but they would not spend the money to upgrade the relay station so it will only carry 19 freeview channels0 -
With BT Total Entertainment, Unlimited Infinity 1 Broadband, 1TB box, etc, will be £45.99 p/m. Netflix then from 5.99 p/m extra.0
