I had a freezer disaster last night too, got out homemade rendang paste and didn't like look of it so we ended up joining the kids for fish fingers, chips and beans - except there were no chips as I had bought potato smilies for the kids instead! So DH and I had fish finger sandwiches and beans

Being able to claim back everything I get foodwise is killing my budgeting attitude!
On the other hand, I'm telling myself to seize the moment, cause I won't be on the expenses forever :A0 -
Hi,
My freezer got turned off by builders (just a mistake).
Think it's all ruined as I don't know whether it has defrosted and re-frozen several times since I last used it.
Hate to do it but I think I will have to chuck the lot! Can't risk DD (who has stomach issues).
Guess budget blown this month.

Hurray for a NSD!!!!
I'm still cooking out of my food stores. I found some stew meat in the bottom of the freezer and am making a burrito filling for dinner. My guys ate leftovers last night. Hurray for leftovers!!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

You could batch-cook any raw foods and re-freeze them, employing the traditional (sniff) test. You could also consider swapping cooked food for raw with friends or relatives, again if they smell OK. Don't automatically bin everything unless it is obviously off. I feel for you

Was tempted to go shopping in town yesterday, fortunately the weather was wet and miserable, not going anywhere today so 3 N.S.D,s, haven`t even been lured by anything on computer.Do I need it or just want it.0

Spent so far: £67.44
That includes an unexpected lunch at work
I like lidl because of its low prices however I've decided not to buy all my veggies there. Cucumbers are white and tasteless, carrots aren't nice, onions are dry and outer layers have to be peeled.
Noticed that branston baked beans cost £1 for three tins in iceland, that's good enough for me! Tastes so much better than value ones.
Hmm, I didn't expect to stay within budget this month, pleasantly surprised.0 -
I love branston beans - ive just finished our pile from when they were 4 for £1
Trying to.meal plan for next week fron the stores as technically I should be starting may but im trying to push another week out as we out as we go away the week after. Running low but seems silly to do a big shop.Living the simple life0
