Hi,
I have meal planned for most days up until 6th May. We go away for two weeks on 7th May, and so i'm just eating from freezer and cupboard, and buying fresh stuff as and when I need it. Not to mention will be using the 'spare' cash for the holiday. (Cannot wait!) :j
I've also just made up my own budget spreadsheet for the year. It is scary how much things total up for the year., so will most definitely be cutting back on the food bill!Debt free challenge 2017. Catalogue: £227.31 / £2025.28 (£1797.97 remaining!)0 -

I think it's also been a difficult month as it's our first one sticking to a budget, and we've also started at the beginning of the month and are trying to get to the 10th ...
The first month is always the hardest, as is eeking it out into a long month
Is it possible to do a meal plan framework up to the 10th? It may help you feel a bit more in control again.0 -
Hmm, not a great day challenge wise for me today
It was a NSD but I also ended up throwing away food that had gone off quicker than I expected it would, probably because it's been fairly warm. I've had to redo my meal plan for the week but luckily I won't need to buy anything extra so at least that's something
Not much else to report so I'm off to bed for an early night. Sweet dreams everyone:ADFW Nerd 145

$15 on Bountiful Baskets which is 50% veg and 50% fruit. It will last us three weeks so breaks down to $5/wk. Its a great savings and is all locally grown.
$415.18/$450 :eek:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Not been to the butchers yet and still 2 big shops so it is going to be tight. On the plus side it includes wine this year which I don't normally count in groceries but our entertainment budget has also been reduced.
Previous months J 200/200, F 199.55/200, M 255.71/250
Total 655.26/650
Managed to plan the rest of the month with out a need to visit the butchers AND managed to defrost the chest freezer last night - :j :rotfl: can't believe what I get excited about! I will defrost the 2 fridge freezers tomorrow and then I will fill with water bottles until I have food to fill the space. Would polystyrene work in the freezer to save on electricity do you think?0 -
