Oops. £29 Waitrose, some sensible things but some deeply unnecessadry things like crisps, icecream and apple turnovers! :0
I blame the wet gloomy weather...
I am trying to compensate by listing my cupboard contents pre my next asda shop.0 -
Well this month I have gone over my £250 budget by £22 - we are sorted for the rest of the time as my new month starts on 22nd - annoyed u went over as this was the closest one I've got to it for a while - never mind tho - we are away 1st week of May for a weeks holiday - it's self catering so will just class it as a normal week and shop accordingly for it.Living the simple life0

So, bit of an expensive day today but it should have been a lot worse! Went for an eye test and I need new glasses again, but the weird thing is that my eyes have improved rather than got worse!! I'm still blind as a bat but apparently not as a blind as I was! Haha!! My glasses usually cost me a fortune as I've got such a strong prescription that I need to get the lenses thinned down and I can't use the nice cheap sites on the internet, but with my NHS voucher and whatever other deals they applied I only ended up paying £25.70!!! I couldn't believe it! I spent over £100 last time for the exact same thing!! So with my glasses coming in massively under budget, I've got some 'spare' money to play with which works out nicely as I have a wedding next week and another one at the end of May
While I was out I got some fruit from the market and a few other bits and bobs and also needed to get a bite to eat as I was out a lot longer than expected. I ended up spending £11.52 altogether but that included some hair dye (£4!) and some milk for my Mum. I didn't mind getting my Mum the milk though, especially as she gave me an almost full bag of tagliatelle nests in return :j
We've decided to cancel our big trip to Aldi tomorrow as neither of us really needs that much so in the morning I'll do a thorough check of what I've got in stock and then just get whatever few bits I definitely need. I know I have to get cat food but as I'll be walking home with it, the weight will help make doubly sure I stick to my list and only get essentials!
Anyhoo, I best get off to bed or I'll be too tired to do anything productive tomorrow. Good night all and I'll catch you in the morning:ADFW Nerd 145

I was going to rave about my new hairdresser, but out of respect to milasavesmoney and their hairdresser I will keep quiet. Hugs to you and her family and friends xx
I went for a job interview today (Thursday) and although I have no experience (none required!!) I did my best and I do have a small advantage in that I have a friend that works there who will obviously vouch for me as she sent me the job advert
Pandora, this the sweetest thing! Your empathy for my loss has really touched me!!!!
Fingers crossed that you get the job!!
Small shop for milk, cleaning supplies, and of course I got sucked into sales...so peanut butter and tea x4 each. I'm trying an all purpose cleaner from Mexico. I live close to the border and so, in the Hispanic grocery that I shop at, there are many such products. Total shop $52.
$389.50/$450:eek:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

I'm already over budget but haven't been near a supermarket since a week yesterday so am pleased to report that the household purse is still firmly closed and we've had 7 NSDs in a row
MrC is now firmly onboard, and seems to be really enjoying the challenge which is making life sooo much easier!0 -
NSD yesterday! I am feeling ok about running the cupboards down a bit and wondering if my large cupboard and huge chest freezer are encouraging food hoarding. Might think about putting non food things in cupboard to take up some space, and a smaller freezer. I don't know how many times I've done a clear out and give away.. but more than 3!2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000

Morning all - this week have spent £16.48 on bits and bobs - managed to get 4 cans chickpeas for £1, 6 pears for 17p and 57p for 2 organic chicken breasts on ys (not planned but good for stores). Am finding I spend on dog food and teabags on a regular basis so will look into bulk buying for next month to drive costs down.
Had 4 NSD's due to working all week and taking a packed lunch.
Visiting a friend today who is cooking Indian so will make and take a couple of dishes to contribute - spicy chickpeas and masoor dhal all from store cupboard supplies.
Have a good day everyone

BRASSICW- we had a similar conversation recently re: 'hoarding'.
Our fridge part of our big fridge freezer went pop a few weeks ago and we have been making do with a camping fridge, whilst we save up.
We also have a medium size chest freezer which is filled to the gunnels, we will soon be semi empty nesters, DS2 due to start uni September and DD spends most of her time with BF, so we have agreed to buy a better spec fridge freezer, on the proviso that I run down the chest freezer and get rid of it. In theory it should save money on running costs and stop me stocking up just to fill the freezer
NSD today btwNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
