    New interim amount = £104

Order placed for £32 from iceland.

Includes SW sausages, which have been reduced from £3 to £1, for the freezer and a huge block of galaxy chocolate reduced to £2 for the next team meeting.

Hopefully last spend of the month total = £136
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

NSD today. Spent the afternoon in the garden with kids and DH planting some seeds. Will probably have to go out tomorrow for something, need a few ingredients for Tuesday night's dinner, and have my meat delivery coming so will be a spend day tomorrow.

I haven't been on for a little while as we had a week away in a caravan last week (food for this come from a separate budget).

Just added up receipts from before and after our trip at it come to £89.62. Off to add it to my total.

I am now off on maternity leave so have a bit more time planning meals etc. also need to start stocking up on nappies and wipes (DS is still in nappies too) x

    February GC £26.68/£250

I've made lists of what is in our cupboards and freezer but none of it really seems to total up to actual meals... Which is a bit disconcerting :-/

Something that helps me is to google the ingredients.... A + B recipes
I did this when I lived with my daughter in Israel. She didn't have a car and it was not easy to get to the grocery store on the bus for a big shop. I could only bring back a few sacks at a time. I would get down to some things we hand and Google for recipes. I managed some wonderful tasty meals.

    TA $10.68.

Well, today has been a bit of a nothing day but at least I didn't spend anything! I think the only productive thing I've done is manage to meal plan for tomorrow. Yep, that's right, I've managed to meal plan for 1 whole day!! At least it's a start, right?!?! :rotfl:

I need to eat whatever is in the fridge (plus a few potatoes and bread rolls) before Friday, so tomorrow it will be sausage butties for lunch and then I'll make a fish pie for tea. That will probably mean more fish pie for Tuesday's tea and a med veg and pasta dish for tea on Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe soup and the other bread rolls for Tuesday lunch, and I'm sure there will be plenty of random bits left for Wed and Thurs lunches.

Hang on a minute!! Did I just meal plan?!?!?!?!?!?! I didn't even need to think!!!!

Blimey!!! All the time I've spent reading about meal planning must have finally sunk in!! Woohoooooo!!!!! :j

PANDORA sorry about the job dilemma, but well done on the meal planning! It's amazing how much food we actually have in, without realising it, until we start meal planning :)

Well I have £6.94 to add to budget. I was given 2 tickets to the Arsenal game at Emirates and they were front row - we were nearly sitting on the grass - i'm still on cloud nine, bought a pint of cider half time @ £4.50.

I could spend much less on food but I can't make myself buy only value stuff... Not only the taste but also nutrition is so different!
I buy mainly value stuff, as I don't mind the taste of what I buy, but will not scrimp on my coffee - got to be Azera. As far as nutrition, I have read loads on this, you can google it, value stuff equals or comes out better nutritionally in so many studies, as they leave out sugar etc.
need to start stocking up on nappies and wipes (DS is still in nappies too) x
My daughter was ALDI today and she said they had 24 pack nappies @ 4 packs for £7.50 - they are really good (according to my sister in law) and their packs of wipes are 64 for about 49p and they are really thick. Hope thats helpful.
