Really struggling with paperwork today, and feel a bit sick/ill. I think it is mainly panic as I have a lot to do this week, but it's really scuppering my concentration. It goes without saying that yes, I am very lucky and grateful a) to have work and b) to be going on holiday. However....too much coffee and sitting still for a long time isn't helping me get through it. I've also just absent-mindedly read the contents of our Easter eggs, and the one Mr N gave me contains wheat, which won't be helping. He of course is mortified as he's usually very vigilant - and unusually, it isn't written in bold either. So thumbs down to Wa1tr0se and thumbs up to Mr T (the egg I gave Mr N is the same flavour/type but no wheat - we both started on "my" egg yesterday so haven't started "his"). Wheat doesn't usually affect me so quickly, and doesn't always make me edgy but think it is just a combination.
Whinge over; someone tell me to pull myself together and give me a kick up the *** to get on with everything.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Kitchen back to it's usual (*cof* right) pristine condition. Floor just drying atm. Am also trying to set up the iphone 4 I am the third owner of. The second owner was mum and it is inextricably linked to an account (on i cloud) she has no memory of, so at the moment we're going nowhere.
I plan on doing some ironing shortly, too.
*phone rings*
here we go
that'll be mum again
still no further...*sigh*Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

That's one of the ones I've tried so I will give it another few goes to see if it makes a difference.
I put it on, left over night.. sprayed it again then scrubbed with a scrubbing brush (toothbrush in the corners) and mopped it off...LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Narco I feel anxious and jittery too. I am temporarily in charge at work this week, lots to do on job no. 2 and of course the kids are on hols so will want ferrying about. My anxiety seems to be really playing up at the moment, no idea why.
DS2 spilt a full mug of coffee on his bedroom carpet earlier, to go with the ketchup mark that was already there so I have had the carpet cleaner out. House is reasonably clean and tidy but I must try and keep on top of things this week.
Hope everyone enjoys what's left of the bank holiday.0 -
Oh well, about to do a final check on one report so that's out of the way.
Eaten and caught up on final Night Manager.
Deleted 50 or so emails.
Eaten too much chocolate; heading reluctantly off to record it on MFP.
This eve is the first time we haven't had the heating on for ages; just beef salad so no cooking hence no aga.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Final update for tonight:
[STRIKE]- take DH to railway
- eat breakfast
- S&S kitchen
- S&S bathroom[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]- transcription (after a marathon effort over the weekend, the end is in sight)
- lunch
- go to vol job
- pick up DH on my way home
- cook and eat tea - mainly yesterday's leftovers
- more transcription[/STRIKE] :j just finished :j
- move computer downstairs so I can carry on working while the boys are here - it needs to be switched off and allowed to cool down first
- make up beds for DGS1+2 - there's time to do it tomorrow before they have to go to bed
I have emailed the finished transcription and am now about to turn off the computer and go and relax in front of the TV.
Good night all. Back tomorrow evening (but no time for other flying tomorrow).0 -
Evening all.
I spent the rest of the day until 6.30 in DD's room sorting through stuff. 4 boxes of stuff to go to charity (along with at least 2 binbags stuffed with stuff, I need to get stronger binbags first though!) and 3 boxes of saleable stuff, a binbag of stuff thats saleable and 5 boxes of books/DVDs/CDs which need resorting but I'd lost all sensation between my waist and my knees at that point so I quit for the day :rotfl:DD has....sat on her bottom at her laptop and watched TV all afternoon.
I have work tomorrow (stuff I normally do on delivery day), DD is on a trip straight from school but is due back by 6pm so can make her own way home without me having to traipse up to meet her, and whatever I decide to make for tea had better be filling as she'll be ravenous by the time she gets home. My brain hurts as I'm tired and I want to go to bed, but DD still has to have her shower so I'm going to be up for a while. I think I'll just put something mindless on the TV until I can go to bed.
I'll see you all in the morning and I'll grab the list then. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Evening all,
Internet is playing up, it's taken me ages to get this far!
Done OK:
[STRIKE]WM
DW
S&S
Kitchen surfaces
Kitchen floor [/STRIKE]
Send gas meter reading
[STRIKE]Tidy hall
Dust it
Hoover and mop it
Empty all bins[/STRIKE]
Get rid of hideous papery hotspot in kitchen
[STRIKE]Walk dog when the rain stops (if it ever does) [/STRIKE]
Painting?
The papery hotspot is my nemesis.
Also we bought dd2 a bike off fleabay, went to collect it, and on the way stopped at a garden centre, bought some new pots for some houseplants that needed repotting. Did three this evening and they look happier now
iona Well done for finishing the transcription!
Nicki , excellent sorting out of stuff!
julie , have you tried one of those magic sponge eraser things?
Right, off to read in bed, OH already snoring, literally.0 -
