Do not lose heart if you cannot keep up with everyone else or reading the thread, don't try to reply to everyone and please remember to include something about flying in all your posts.
Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
WM ~ Washing machine
TD ~ Tumble dryer
SC ~ Slowcooker
BM ~ Breadmaker
DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
ETA ~ Editted to add
gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up!
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!

I'm going to try and do what I can when I am at home..but I'm only here a couple of days.. I'll try and do some stuff when I get back from therapy but not sure what I'll feel like especially as it's my first day back after 3 weeks off ill, and I'm still not 100%, but 80% is better than nothing at the moment
I found my lost Nexus tablet while we were at MIL's today.. For some reason it had slipped between some fabric in a cross stitch kit, in my sewing bag. I swear I had looked in that several times but hey ho!!!! Happy bunny now, so now I have the Nexus and the Fire HD tablet...Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning
Had an awful nights sleep and eventually decided to get up. Going to tackle my finances spreadsheets, put some dates in my diary and sort some bits of paper.
Rain here is awful, the last few years we have been camping at Easter, thankfully not this year!0 -
Thanks for the new thread, Natty.
Glad you had a good holiday Lynne, but  to your cracked rib - GWS!
Froddy, enjoy your break
Our house is still clean and tidy after Saturday's blitzing, but I have to get ready for DGS1+2 who I'm fetching tomorrow. Also, it's my first day back at my NT volunteering - and we have snow lying on the fields! DH has an early start playing trains. So my list today says:
- take DH to railway
- eat breakfast
- S&S kitchen
- S&S bathroom
- transcription (after a marathon effort over the weekend, the end is in sight)
- lunch
- go to vol job
- pick up DH on my way home
- cook and eat tea
- move computer downstairs so I can carry on working while the boys are here
- make up beds for DGS1+2
Catch up later. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed x0 -
Lynne- glad you had a lovely time. I hope you are resting those ribs.
Got up early this morning as we had planned to go for a walk at 8am but it is raining so we have cancelled.
Looks like we will be chilling out today so here is my list....

Wudupa
Put all clothes away

Morning all. That's a long list Ionafan. Thanks for the list Natty.
I've been up an hour and already have beef stew in the slow cooker and me and the dogs are fed. This is my plan for today:
WUDUPA
Dust dusty bits in LR
Do the gloss paint work
Get clean
Walk the dogs if it stops persisting down with rain
Hoover/sweep/mop through house
Have a great Easter Monday everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
Well I should be in this week as I am at home. I made a good start at the weekend on the bathroom although I still have to put some stuff away in there but it is looking a lot better than it has for a long time! My first job really should be to get dressed and take the dog out but the weather is awful so I'm putting it off a bit.
Have a good day all
Hugs
