I had a good day yesterday ,i came home with three bags of reduced food some of which was from the Co ox at ten pence each and paid a total of £2.99 ,bread and rolls are all divided into smaller bags and in the freezer ,i do hope i wont see any more freezer stuff reduced as my freezer is completely full now and i find it hard to resist .Today i need to look for vegetables to make soup for dinner tonight and fruit for a fruit salad ,really loving this challenge .
One sale on ebax on Sunday wrapped and posted yesterday ,i need to get lots more items listed as its free listing throughout February apparently so thats a job for the weekend ,i really do not enjoy it but im happy when i sell so it has to be done .
Thank you ch4rly ,im looking out for a nice little basket to put everything into now ,i might have a look in some CS today if i get time and if it stops pouring with rain .
Thanks themadvix ,i definitely seem to be more motivated if i set myself challenges .0 -
More great bargains grocery shopping yesterday with £8.58 spent and freezer really full to the brim now , fingers crossed for today too ,i really am loving this challenge and hoping i can keep the figure low overall this month.
No sales yesterday on ebax ,i think i might try putting a few items on gumtrex today i am hoping for £150 over the month at least thats my target but it wont happen without any work so more ebax listing too.
Nothing more to report so off to look round the shops then walk the dog .0 -
You need to start eating some of it now
I've set myself a limit of £75 for the month, but hopefully will come in some way under that.

Day 12 of February and not doing too well ,my goal was to spend £240 this month on groceries and i have already used £181.89 of that leaving just £58.11 to last for 17 days ,i do still have a fairly well stocked freezer and two fridges but i have things to buy for tomorrow pancake day and wednesday valentines day so not sure how this is going to work.Never mind i like a challenge .
In other news there had been no sales on ebax for ten or eleven days but this morning a sale at last so thats one plus and one offer that i have to think about
themadvix you know me too well ,i will start to eat out of the freezer it is full yes and i do need to get myself organised and remember to get things out the night before ...No i havent listed anything at all on GT nor ebax how naughty is that ,nothing slips by you ,you definitely keep me on my toes im glad someone does i will put it on my list for this week .
I really do need to get motivated although one good thing i have done is surveys mainly because you can do it in the warm and sitting on your sofa ,i netted £4.70 and £20 this weekend so thats something positive at last i just wish i could find this thing called motivation im sure i could do so well if i could find it0 -
Hi Try Harder I am sure you can get on top of your grocery spends, you are usually so good at keeping to your food budget.
I don't normally do surveys but I signed up for Nectar Canvass and have been doing a few on there. They email you when there are some available and you earn nectar points, which always come in useful.
In terms of motivation I read on someone else's thread about just having three extra tasks to do everyday ( extra to the usual things like laundry) This is supposed to be more motivating than having a big list of things to do and you are more likely to get the three things done. It works for me : )0 -
I like the three tasks thing - I love a list, but I do find that if I don't prioritize then I'll pick the easy bits off and leave the harder bits for the following day!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning Busy Mee1 and themadvix . I think the problem has arisen because i allow £100 a week for groceries which would have meant £400 for the four weeks but i have tried to save £160 of the £400 so only allowed £240 this month so its just a matter of adjusting to £60 a week rather than £100 .I have £54.96 left whereas i would have had £214.96 left in a normal month so it is getting very tight .
Yes thats a good idea ,i have seen it too ,i will try it ,i am just naturally lazy but would be very happy with three jobs finished a day .
Was just thinking about you themadvix hope you have had a good break.0 -
Ah, yes, but you're forgetting that freezer full of food
I'm naturally lazy too - hence the lists help me to keep on top of stuff. I had a lovely break thanks - wish I was there again now!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Well the good news is that i have passed the £20,000 mark and am hoping to be closer to £21,000 than £20,500 but we shall see .
Grocery budget has £27.55 left in it which has to last 10 days so £2.75 a day lets see how i get on with that too otherwise i will have to dip into the £160 i have set aside from the food budget and i dont want to do that or at least only take out as little as possible.I do have lots of food in the freezer themadvix you are quite right .
Off out in a while for a dog walk and a look around the shops for a bargain i like a challenge.
Ebax has been so very quiet just one sale in the whole of February so my £10 a day challenge is completely shattered although i have taken around £30 on surveys .
Money set aside for big birthday this month and some small gifts but i still need to find a nice box or basket to put them in .0 -
Well done TH on breaking the 20k barrier - how does it feel to be a lady who has £20k in savings ?0
