They sounded very unhelpful and said it will take them a week to establish if they will entertain me as they will send a letter to their customer and wait for them to respond. When I said cant you call, they said no, we send a letter.
I'm not even sure my insurer has a phone number for me. Even if they did, what if I was on holiday for a week or three?
Or would you be happy for their insurer to just accept liability blindly? How about if I contacted your insurer and made an allegation of damage against you, which they just paid out without actually asking for your side...?0 -

In my case I contacted the owner of the vehicle directly. Surely it is for them to report an accident to their insurers? If they choose not to then they should be responsible for the third party's claim themselves. I agree that going direct to the third party's insurers before contacting the policy holder first is a fruitless exercise.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. "Nope, wasn't me. Your witness is mistaken."
Lol, they didn't dispute it. The police matched the paint left behind by their lorry. Have you read my post (#50)?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

An application for one should generally only be made against a party who is not likely to be a party in any subsequent claim.
I'd say their insurance company is a likely party.
Keep googling so you can keep the dodgy advice coming.
Can you please explain why you are randomly reporting my historic posts to the mod team ?
rather Childish do you not think.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Well they had a look and it was the same colour. I wouldn't be giving the op any hope it would be actually tested as that's never going to happen for a damage only bump.0 -

Stop what? I've not reported anything.
And as you say it's an adult form and the adult thing to do is warn people about following your dodgy advice. I make no apology for correcting your bad advice and will continue to do so.0
