Sorry Diary I have been busy trying to sort out the junk in our house.
Things are going well with the move......waiting on surveyors to come on ours and the one we want.
We did have a moment when we questioned if we were doing right. Going from no debt and just a mortgage to new loan on top of our mortgage and house needs a lot of work. We then went for a walk around the village and have decided we are doing the right thing. It will be a hard first year but worth it. We will have to bunk down in my parents house for a month as the house needs rewiring and plastering etc.
Been up the attic and put lots of things for sale, fingers crossed we get something. All monies will go into a pot for new housey items.
I feel I should move this thread to debt free diaries now......what do you think?Let's be happy!!0 -
I would view the loan as a second mortgage. It is not as if you have taken it out to do something frivolous.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

Wow things have moved fast kitten, congratulations! I saw the loan as additional mortgage borrowing so your diary is in the right place. We actually have similar figures re house value and outstanding mortgage. If all goes to plan we will be borrowing to pay for our extension. Great mortgage rate by the way!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Thanks guys, yes I think I am in the right place, I like it here anyway.
What a glorious day it is today. I missed most of it being in work but made the most of it and sat in the garden after school pick up. My sister came over with nephew and we had a good natter over a cup of tea.
Then I gave the conservatory a good scrub as the surveyor is coming tomorrow. We had a leak in the conservatory roof which has been fixed but it left the room a little grubby. I quickly cleaned it a couple of weeks ago but I really went for it today.
I put a few items on eBay yesterday. I have decided to put that money away for little things for the new house eg pictures, candles etc.
Husband has annual leave this week and forgot he had booked it until last week when his collegue reminded him, he doesn't really need the week off so he has done 3 days overtime instead. He works 12 hrs so only does 3 days a week (emergency service worker) so the overtime, which will be a fair amount, will go into our savings for updating the new house. He is a worrier when I comes to money. He likes to do at least 3 overtime shifts a month. There is a part on his rota where he has a good stretch of rest days so he tries to fit some work in. He's a good boy fair play.
OK little one wants some attention, she's having a cuddle which is unusual as she's always a busy little bee. She must be tired!
Try to pop in later.Let's be happy!!0 -

Thanks for visiting Chump (can I call you that?)
Lovely weather we are having, sat in garden earlier and it was nice to feel the warmth of the sun on my face.
Surveyor came earlier, I was in work husband said he had a good look everywhere. At the end he told husband I can't find anything wrong. We think the end of our fasuer (spelling?) is rotting, only at the end. The house is only 10 years old so it may only need painting, I would be surprised if that's not mentioned In the survey.
Had a Facebook sale today........all of £2. Put in the money box for nic naks for new house.
Busy day tomorrow, I'm working , then pick little one up fromy school then straight for a play date at one of my daughters friends house. I'm a little nervous as I don't know the lady, I had a text saying her little one keeps asking if my little one can come over to play.
Have been looking for a holiday, our time off as a family is in August. I want to go away in our trailer tent but husband want's to book a caravan holiday. We have never been away in August before and it's SO expensive! We would have recently moved as well (hopefully). We will have to sit down and sort it soon.
Husband is up doing bedtime stories then we are going to watch a film. We are not normally film people but I fancy something good.
See ya later

All moving in the right direction! I agree with August holiday prices - they are crazy.

Well diary today has been a funny day.
Went out for breakfast, the three of us, had a BOGOF offer so thought we would buy 2 big breakfasts and share with the little one, cost £4 ish for the lot.
Had a puncture on the motorway on way to parents in laws. Traffic police helped (well watched) it's a new car so no spare wheel and used some sort of slime that is connected to the boot. It worked and got us to a garage. So had to fork out on a new tyre but it only had about a months wear left so not so bad. Got to in laws late ( whispers.....that's not too bad either.....joking they are lovely).
Had a Facebook sale of £5 this evening so that's in the piggy bank, now have £29 in there.
Food in the oven, bottle of red open and now deciding what to watch on TV.Let's be happy!!0 -
Need to vent.......:mad::mad::mad:
Washing machine is playing up, has been playing up off and on for months but now it's getting on my nerves!!
Been to a children's party put it on before we left and now back home and it has error on it. Switched it to the off position opened door and water came out everywhere!! Grrr!
Anyway what a glorious day, we walked to the children's party as it was only down the road in the leisure centre at the soft play area. My little girl is very sensitive and won't venture up the top of the play area on her own or with her friends, so I had to go with her. I'm exhausted now and she is still chatting away non stop at 100mph.Let's be happy!!0
