Hi There.
Well I tryed doing a diary on the debt wannabe board but felt it was in the wrong place. The only debt we have is our mortgage. Our house is going on the market in the next couple of weeks so we can find our forever home. That means a bigger mortgage.
We are a family of 3, myself, husband and daughter.
We have been saving like crazy for just over a year and have £12,000 in savings.
That will cover our moving costs and whatever work needs doing on a new house. We are hoping for another £2000+ whilst we wait for a buyer etc.
We have £90,000 left on the mortgage but house is worth £162,000. We are looking at houses up to £200,000 which will take us to £128,000 to pay (if my maths is correct)
Here goes to selling, finding a forever home and everything else that goes with it.
 Going to pour myself a glass of red to celebrate

Hi Lucky, Thanks for dropping in.
Had this mortgage in 2010 and it was £132,500. Back then and for years after, we spend and spend etc, it wasn't until we had our little girl in 2012 that we realised we didn't need to buy all the things we did. I took a career break of 3 years and we learnt to live with one wage and it taught us so much which means we are saving big lumps of my wage (only work 25 hours).
Little one is still awake in her bedroom so better go and settle her.....again xx

Today
Busy...ish day today. Trip to 'The Range', dh hates this shop but I love it!! Spent £40 ... shower curtain, shower mat, pegs, doll for dd, oh and coffee and cake in the cafe.
Made Leek and potato soup and it is delicious! Batch froze lots for work.
I'm going to enjoy writing about our spending habits. Can't wait until we find our new home so we can start to overpay.Let's be happy!!0 -
Hi Kittencat!
Wishing you every success with your sparkling new diary!
I love your attitude - life would be joyless if we couldn't have the little luxuries along the way such as the cake and coffee!
My dd is 14 months, and like you, I have been surpised by how much less I was spending when my focus changed whilst on maternity leave.
Best of luck finding your forever home. What is your dream forever home looking like?
Will enjoy following your diary. Am still over on dfw, but will make it over here next year!

Hi Castle :j
My forever home..... mmmmmmm
Our budget won'tgive us everything we want so we will probably need to prioritise.
We live in a new style 3 bed detached house with a very small 3rd bedroom and tiny garden. Location is lovely though, we have woods behind us. If we could take our house away and put an older property in its place then we would be more than happy. We would like an older property with some frontage as well as a lovely FLAT back garden. We would probably have to find a house that needs work on if we want everything on our list. We are happy to do that as long as it's livable.
Castle good luck with your debt busting.....you will get there :TLet's be happy!!0 -

Happy Easter Sunday everyone
When did Easter go so over the top?
My little girl has so much already and Nannie and aunties haven't been up yet.
I knew she would be spoilt (only grandaughter and niece on both sides, it's all boys on both families and they are teenagers) so bought her a little doll instead of chocolate. She isn't that fussed on chocolate so it will last for ages!
Our plans today:-
My parents are coming up ......they only ever stay for a cuppa. My dad has ants in his pants and can't keep still for 10 mins
My sister and nephew will pop In with easter eggs
There is an Easter event going on in the local field and if it doesn'train we will pop over.
Sunday roast by me
Pottering and sorting in between everything else.
Happy days all xxLet's be happy!!0 -
Oh forgot to say
Estate Agent is coming up on Wednesday to take pictures etc
The ball is rolling.Let's be happy!!0 -
That sounds lovely Kittencat. I always dreamed of living in an old house, but we are in a newbuild bungalow on DH's farm, which is highly unlikely to change! Although hopefully when we are finished it will be nice and have a character of it's own. Good luck with photos and associated cleaning and tidying!Debts: Credit Card: €6000 ---> €5050 Feb 25 \ Overdraft: Step 3/100
