teacher refused a pupil a toilet visit

The kids are not allowed to go to the toilet during lesson changes - even going at break time allowing tutor, lesson and part of 2nd lesson.
The child is off school 2day.....xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Why is the child off school?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

It's all common sense. The problem is teachers get slated whatever they do. I would maybe lengthen the break times a little (or have a gap between each lesson) and have an earlier start or later finish to the day.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

A discussion with my DD about an incident at school.
4th lesson of day (2 lessons, break, tutor, 2 lessons, lunch 1 lesson), yr 8 (12/13yrs)
In lesson 4 - over half way through pupil asks can they go to the toilet, teacher says no, pupil asks again - no.
Apparently the head has decided that unless you have a toilet pass, tough luck..
apparently skiving, damage to property,- so blanket policy.
The pupil is not one that asks to go to the toilet, literally 1st request in almost 2 yrs...
Surely this can'rt be right...
...........
I appriciate that toilet visits can interfere with the class teaching etc, bit surely if its a desperate situ.
Very nearly an accident, - the pupil had bad cramps waiting to get to the toilet, was in discomfort and took nothing in of the lesson,
Unfortunately they've had to introduce this rule because, as you say, kids were saying they need the loo and then going off to have a fag or whatever.
Most healthy people can hold their bladder/bowel for an hour or two, which is what we're talking about here, no?
They may have to re-think their policy if a pupil actually does have an accident though :eek:sealed pot challenge 9 #0040 -

Dd had a chat via text - the kid been sick most of ngt and back and forth to the loo, whether it's a start of a kidney infection don't know. Xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
At my all girls school, the male teachers never refused to let us out for loo breaks. A few even told us not to bother asking, just go. They were all nervous about girls having their 'time of the month', and just didn't want to risk anything. I guess we did take advantage of this.
The problem was that if we went between lessons, we would be late and get demerit marks, which led to detention. If we tried to go at break/lunch, the queues were a mile long and the bell would go before we had a chance. Occasionally, the loo's were locked or guarded by staff who would refuse access during lessons. I'm not really sure what we were meant to do!0 -

Or just a tummy bug.
Highly unlikely to be a kidney infection after having to wait to use the toilet one time, unless the child already has an underlying medical condition.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
My daughter was pg with her second she was called by college and they demanded she went in.. so off she went, threw up on her personal tutor.. and went home.. they didnt force her to go in after that! She was on 3 lots of medication to try to stop the sickness and was still ill.
Your daughter was 'pregnant with her second' and was called by college who demanded she went in.
Please tell me she was a tutor/staff member, and not a STUDENT!"
If she was a student, I'm done.
Re the OP, of course they can't have kids naffing off to the loo willy nilly, and I bet massive emergencies, kids doing it on the floor, vomiting over the teacher etc, are extremely rare.
They have a break every 90 minutes to 2 hours. Surely they can wait THAT long?!You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

What do you think I should have done in my situation then? I had asked to leave but was told no, several times, and was definitely going to vomit in the next 5 minutes.0 -
peachyprice wrote: »It isn't 2 hours though, it's an hour or less. There's no reason why she couldn't have popped to the loo between lessons 3 and 4.
It's not always an hour or less. Some schools have 2 hour lessons, some don't have gaps between all heir lessons.
Thinking back, at my secondary school we were in a classroom at 8.45am and the first possible toilet break was about 11.15.0
