Living near the Head Office, we see them all the time. We always look out for the names of the Lorries too!

I still shout it out MSE Andrea, I have no kids & I just don't care as I want people to feel the sheer joy of it all.

    Yay! :j

I can't imagine the day when my kids are grown up and I no longer shout out "Eddie", "Sheep", "haystacks" or other random views :rotfl:

    Keep a tally.

Eddie Stobart, Norbert Dentressangle and Christian Salvesen.

Me too I am often on the motorways for my job ( yes I drive a BMW) and I spot these and Malcolms and the Soham company too.

My kids ( now late 20's and 30 still play the Yellow car game but only minis)
I didn't know about the app will get it on my phone for mynext trip down to London :)

    :)

As i mentioned, Salveson finished in 2007, I haven't seen one for ages. And you are going to have to start swapping Nobbie Disentangled for XPO, even they are getting thinner on the ground!

Yes sorry not Salveson but the others,( I meant to delete that from the quote) sad but true you have to do something to keep alert on a long trip alone. I also look for the trucks that deliver our goods to customers and the carries previous employers use very sad!

It's worse if you are in haulage, you know what contracts they have and trundle ropund going, bet he's going to Doncaster/Plymouth/ Brum with yogurts/widgets/roof tiles.:o the things you have to do on a long drive!

How many points for an Eddie Stobbart car transporter. Saw one today on the M6.

I like 'Prestons of Potto' - it has a nice ring to it. :D

My favourite is Pollock Scotrans, that's not what I read in my head though! :D

There's a depot at Newcastle-under-Lyme too, just by junction 15 on the M6.

Before there were so many motorways to travel on we used the play the "legs" game - counting the legs on pub signs - for instance the "Coach and Horses" would give 8 legs, but "The Jolly Sailor" just two. You take it in turns to count legs, changing whose turn it is when, for instance, a post-box is spotted (or a bus maybe.... something that crops up about every 5 minutes). Sadly not relevant to motorway travel... It's a sucessor to "Travelling Piquet" played in Ye Olden Days http://www.fromoldbooks.org/Grose-VulgarTongue/t/travelling-piquet.html
