Mark's lorry is called Phoebe Grace (IIRC)

If you have an iphone there is a really clever app that you can use to log the names - it will tell you which ones are in the vicinity, if you cant read the name clearly on the motorway. I used to have hours of fun when hubby was driving and I was spotting them! Can't do it now I have an Android phone. :(

    Really

I'm in Newport and see loads of them! I think they even have a depot around here.

As for Andrea's question. Wifey has watched the whole series of Eddie Stobart trucks and trailers on Channel 5 and is a fan of 1 of the drivers. In my car any Stobart spotting is strictly prohibited because i got fed up of hearing "i wonder if that's Mark driving" anytime we passed a Stobart on the motorway.

Yes they have a depot in Newport, I rarely see them around Swansea area though. I think Owens and John Raymond etc have most of the contracts West of Cardiff, I see lots of Stobbarts lorries when I go the Midlands with work though.

Sod the kids, I'm in me 40s and still get excited when I see one lol. Always try to see the name, but, seeing as it's me driving usually, I'm yelling at my OH to see if he can get it.

    Sad...

    Yes, we love this game!

I know there are some hard core Eddie Stobart'ers out there, but we are not TOO hard core.

We have a points system game, and an ES lorry gives the spotter 10,000 points, as long as they see it before the rest of us.

The rule is that we ALL have to be in the car and see it, or it doesn't count.

We rarely see them in South East Cornwall, but we saw 2 in 1 week a few months ago, in our town!

One of the most exciting things about a long journey for us is trying to spot an ES lorry!

We are off to Birmingham tomorrow (M5), so will be keeping our eyes peeled :)

All the time, love it. Our version: one point for a regular Eddie; two for a double Eddie;five for a white Eddie. Minus a point if you so much as say Ed..... and the lorry isn't an Eddie.

    Love this :rotfl:

  • I saw one at the weekend!

I nearly shouted it out loud.

Glad I didn't though; I was with adult friends going to London and my kids weren't with me! :rotfl:

    Keep a tally.

Eddie Stobart, Norbert Dentressangle and Christian Salvesen.

Norberts, or to give them the truckers name, Nobbie Disentangled, were sold out to XPO an American firm last year. Thre are a couple about still but they are mostly changed over to XPO livery.

Christian Salveson was bought out by Nobbie D in 2007, so not much chance of seeing them either!

When I first met MrDrink, he introduced me to Stobbart-Spotting. He even bought me a membership to the Stobbart club, from which I received a book with all the names of the lorries in so I could tick them off.
After this we also started spotting Gregory lorries, which are based in Devon. It still makes me smile (and text MrDrink) today when I see them, which isn't often up here in Lincolnshire.

Oh and MrDrink tried to introduce spotting Irlam lorries, but I never got into them.

And Stobbies bought out Irlams a good few years back. More sorry!

    I just spot my trucks:D

It's not just a case of spotting the lorries, it's more about finding out the names that have been given to them - followed by a discussion between the adults about why the names just don't gel together (which is usually the case, IME).
Absolutely! I was gobsmacked to actually see one called........

I'm sad too - I don't even have kids. :rotfl:

I also have this compulsion to twist round in my seat to see the destination and number on National Express buses. :o

It's all down to not being able to read in the car as it gives me travel sickness.

    Keep a tally.

Eddie Stobart, Norbert Dentressangle and Christian Salvesen.

We spot "Turners of Soham" cos they're local to us.

I spotted an Eddie Stobart driver lobbing his litter out of his window on the M6. He probably regretted the fact the name of his lorry was so memorable when I phoned them up to complain.
