Well done CB on everything so far, all those bits of income really add up and your house fund is looking fab :T

Good luck with your 31 item declutter. I find it easier to do it like that it smaller chunks, definitely more achievable, and then to make a bit of money is a bonus. Enjoy the bank holiday :)

Thank you for popping by Ena! I've only been concentrating on extra income the past couple of months and am really pleased with how it's coming along - it makes me wonder why I'd not thought of it before! Even if you're not saving/debt busting why wouldn't you want extra income!? haha

Yeah I find it much better to set myself a goal and tackle something that way, I like working "towards" something even if it's just seeing a list of things I've gotten rid of.

I hope you are having a lovely BH Monday :j

    So I had a lie-in today :o

I've been cleaning/organising for the past hour and a half, and have already made a massive dent. Only have a couple of areas in my room to tackle now and then I can look at tackling the big pile of things I've found for eb@y!

I've also thrown a lot of stuff away, but didn't count a lot of it. I did, however, go through my makeup, and threw away:
    • 7 eyeliner pencils
    • 6 single eyeshadows
    • 2 small eyeshadow palettes
    • 2 lip and cheek tints
    • 8 lip products (liners and lipsticks)

I have to say, a lot of those were given to me by mum (she buys a lot of products then realises she doesn't like that product/shade) and it's all stuff I've had in my possession for 6 months plus and not used. What's the point?

I've been listening to more podcasts on minimalism, and a comment someone made really struck home - if I died today (morbid), would I want my loved ones to have to sort through my clutter? I'm better than before, but tbh, I have so much CRAP in my possession that could easily be moved on in whatever way. I wouldn't want my mum/bf to have the extra stress of going through piles of stuff if something were to happen to me.

Tried to do some surveys on sw@gbucks but again screened out of everything. And the one I could've done I didn't feel like doing yet another survey about wrapped bread :rotfl: BH Monday is too short for that!

I'll be going out for dinner with my bf/my bf and his friend and gf. Not sure yet if they are coming or if it'll be date night, but either way should be good as it's an american diner-type restaurant that is really popular in our area but I've never been. I will probably drive so won't be drinking, which will save some pennies.

As the sound isn't working on my laptop, I've been jamming to the radio through my phone. As I'm doing stuff, the cats have joined me. Does anyone else's cats *have* to be involved when you're doing something? If a song comes on I like I've been torturing them by dancing with them :rotfl: it's a wonder they come anywhere near me tbh!

Enough rambling from me, I should make some more dents in my clutter :A

    Ok let's update -

£25 on dinner last night (was a double date in the end, very very nice and something a bit different).

Posted two eb@y items today, and spent £39 on entry to the London Marathon next year. Eeeek! I decided to donate it as you got an extra ballot entry and a top. If i get it, great, if not then it's not meant to be. I will also have to see how the half goes!

Got a stinking cold so no run tonight :( Had lots of vitamin c and try and get an early night tonight. Work was mental today (always is after a BH) and my voice just got more nasaly as the day went on. Why, when it's sunny, do I now get a cold? :(

Anyhoo, onwards and upwards. Hoping for a NSD tomorrow (will be first of the month!)

Well woke up with a still blocked nose and fuzzy head. Today should be interesting

Yesterday I had some money become available in paypal - I kept £4 for my everyday account, and moved £5.32 into my house fund. Also had £1.33 interest in house fund. Signature has been updated!

I kept planning for today to be a NSD, but I will be eating at my bf's and it's my turn to buy dinner. Also almost out of cat treats (and it is v important that my cat gets his treats!!). So will have to suck it up and do my spending today and hope to get 2 NSD for Thursday and Friday this week.

Meant to say as well, I had crazy dreams last night (always do when I'm under the weather). I dreamt about money-making sites such as sw@gbucks and receipt hog, v bizarre! Not sure if it's a good thing or bad that I'm dreaming about these things :rotfl:

Oh my life, how can I have such a stinking cold when the weather is this gorgeous!? Also thrown my back out from sneezing, so training for my half doesn't look anywhere near possible for the next few days :(

Went to Tesco last night and spend £15.51 - got dinner for last night (pasta bake so cost £1.31 for all the ingedients); cat treats, including one YS christmas stocking filler with 2 treat boxes and a cat toy; lots of YS items that can be used for work lunch; and chocolate for the bf :o
I've been using ReceiptHog, and not only did I snap my receipt, but I found one in another trolly when putting mine away, so snapped that too - was a small one so didn't think much of it but as it was for over £20 I got 10 coins :D

Today should *fingers crossed* be my first NSD of this month. Not sure why it's been so hard, seems to have been something cropping up everyday.

Tried to do some surveys on Sw@gbucks yesterday but got screened out of all of them again. This time because I'm not an IT professional; I'm not a company director; and I still don't have kids. Feeling very put out haha.

Thinking last night about my birthday in August. My bf and I have the Monday and Tuesday after off as annual leave (my actual bday is a Wednesday and I don't see the point of having leave days in the middle of the week, make mine a long weekend please!) The original plan was to go to Alton Towers as I've never been, and we could get 2 days entry and a hotel for around £100 each. But since they've had so many problems, including one last week, I'm just not sure now. The one last week was a standard rain on the tracks thing, but I'm getting a lot more cautious as I get older, and I'm just not sure how I feel about it atm.
So, after that ramble, the point is, where should we go? I'm the only one that can drive, and we're in Essex, so somewhere that's ideally not further than 3/4 hours would be best. I really want to go to Bath, but my bf said that's an awkward drive - does anyone know if it's true? I'm happy with basic hotels or using airbnb, just think it will be nice to get away for a couple of days. Last year for my bday we got a hotel in London for cheap, near the Strand, and went to see the Lion King and got a Chinese in China Town, it was so lovely I actually wanted to cry....it felt like we'd gone on holiday. Want to have that again this year if it's possible!

If anyone has any recommendations for nice cities in the UK please let me know.

Well I've just googlemapped it, and although I can what he means in that the M4 goes up and around to then go south to Bath, it's only around 2 hours 42 minutes which is miles better than I was expecting. I have wanted to go for ages, so I think that may be the place :D I mentioned Brighton, but it's so close to us that I've been loads.

Yeah it is good - I haven't cashed out yet but I'm almost there (I don't shop as much now but I do get my mum's receipts as well). It's an app and you just snap your receipts, and you get 5/10/15 coins depending on the size of the receipt. There's mini-challenges as well which earn you spins, spins earn coins etc. You can cash out with amazon vouchers or paypal. It takes 2 secs to upload the receipts so worth doing in my eyes :)
