  • Hello Littlebirdie, thanks for reading! Definitely do try sw@gbucks, when I'm consistent with it I can redeem at least a £5 voucher per week for Am@zon, and if you do the sw@gstakes you can win vouchers too sometimes! (I've been lucky enough for that to happen to me once though, think that was my dose of luck for the year :rotfl:)

Wow thats so cool! Well done. How many hours do you put into it a week? Does it not encourage you to spend more money though and build up with more stuff you dont need?

@Littlebirdie, I would say I do about half an hour - an hour a day for that, I'll do it in a break at work or while I'm watching tv. it does fluctuate but some surveys you can get 80SB for, which is essentially a tenth of a gift card!
I use am@zon mostly to bulk buy toiletries and e-books, so the gift cards get used for stuff I would already buy(e-books especially are my weakness). You can exchange the sw@gbucks for money, but it costs more points to do it that way. They have other gift card options as well, I notice they have john lewis and new look!

Had £4.44 become available in paypal, so that has been moved over to my deposit fund.

I went to the cinema last night to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 with my mum. It was funny in some places, and tried too hard in others...overall enjoyed it though. We went to the cheapy cinema, and I had a meerkat movies deal, so with tix and drinks it cost £10.30 That's for 2 tickets, 2 popcorns (she likes sweet, I like salt) and a tea for her. Not bad I don't think!

I have my eyebrows tonight (so excited it's untrue) and I have also bought a replica bag of a well-known designer off FB for £30. I bought a similar bag last year in October for the same price, and I've worn it to death and now it's looking very shabby, so thought I would upgrade. I still had some money left over from my mum for Xmas, so I have used some of that for the bag rather than dipping into my very-poor-looking account. It's only the 13th of the month!

Yesterday I got my HD brows done, and I am so happy with them :D I need to learn how to fill them in to how she did them, but it should be a much shorter process in the morning. £25 well spent!
I also picked up my bag, and am super happy with it, so that was £30 from xmas money well spent.
Spent £4.50 in Tesco on a salad for dinner and some pre-cooked chicken for lunch at work. But the salad obviously wasn't enough because by the time I got home from my errands I was starving :o So I ate the chicken :o So today will be an improvised lunch of whatever I have in my drawer at work!
Hoping I won't spend anything today, but I'm eating at my boyfriend's tonight and I might be roped into buying the meat for it. We'll see.
Have a run scheduled tonight, so that should be fun, especially as it's supposed to rain quite heavy later today. Oh well, I'll be washing my hair tonight anyway, might as well get a headstart!
Last night had an enquiry on a shirt I put on eb@y for my bf - a superdry shirt, brand new, I put as £7.50 buy now. Had an offer of £3!!!! I'm in "negotiations" with them atm, but come on, less than half the price! People want something for nothing on that site. I had two items end yesterday with watchers but no takers. I seem to be averaging one sale a week at the moment. Suppose I can't complain!

Yesterday I went for my run, 3.58 miles in 34.59 minutes. Good pacing all the way round, but when I started I was struggling a bit and wondered why, then my app told me my split pace was a lot faster than my usual pace!! So I thought sod it I'll try and keep it up haha.
Yesterday was a NSD for me as my bf bought chicken for our dinner :D Today should also be a NSD as I have no plans.
Have a bid on an item ending today. I am annoyed as that means I'll have to go to the PO tomorrow (providing they pay swiftly)....but I should be happy as it's another item gone!? I'm so lazy on the weekends I hate doing anything if it's not exercise, or being in bed either watching my programmes or reading a book. Bizarre.
Edited to add: I finished another book last night, Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb. Was good but was a beast at 839 pages, so took me a while to get through (even for me!).

Ebay update - my item ending today went, so that's good just waiting for payment now. The shirt that someone offered 3 quid for sold at the full BIN price! So chuffed with that, will send off tomorrow.
Had someone in Bulgaria ask for the measurements of another shirt, and if they pay extra postage will I send to them? I've told my mum and she's told me not to send abroad as there could be issues....but if they're willing to pay the postage should I chance it? Not sure how to proceed with that one, I've only sold in the UK before...

Up bright and early! Well, my version of bright and early for a Saturday:D
Went to the Post Office to post the shirt (woman who won the auction that ended yesterday still hasn't paid, so will have to wait till Monday for that one:mad:), a face cream that my mum had sold (she's caught the ebay bug after I told her about my sales!), and dropped off a load of stuff I've meaning to get rid of for ages to a charity shop. They seemed so grateful for it as well, I think this particular shop doesn't get much. I think I will make it my mission to go there at least once a month to drop stuff off. Not only does that help them, but it will mean gradually I will get rid of the piles of stuff I still have lying around that I either know won't sell, or I cba to sell. I only have a room to declutter, I can't imagine the stress of a whole house!
As I was rushing around from PO to CS, I walked past a bakers, and thought, oh maybe I'll get a baguette...NO! and then driving home I thought oh, let's drive past the McD and get a coffee....NO! I stopped myself and just drove home :rotfl: I can have a coffee at home, and make myself a sandwich, it's so stupid.
Annoyingly, after I moved all my money into different accounts, I forgot my standing order for my HTB isa came out today, so that made me go into my overdraft:( the one I've only just got the charges cleared from:( so that'll be another £6 probably next month. Oh well, you live and learn!!!
My bf is making a stir fry tonight, so although I spent money on postage, I will get that back so I will count today as a NSD:T Hope to have one tomorrow as well. I have about £7 a day to last me through the month until payday, so need to be extra careful.

Oh, and my bf told me last night to just keep all the money I make from selling his shirts, as "it all goes in the same pot in the end anyway". Yay :D

    Happy Weekend!

Hello :). It really is the small things that ensure big changes such as not buying coffee or food out. Enjoying your diary :)

Hello Beat the Debt, thanks for reading! nice to have some company :D

Well I definitely failed on the not buying food out, as today on my way home from my bf's I went and got takeaway kfc for £4.49:o But to be honest I've been hungry all weekend, and I knew when I got home there'd be nothing substantial for lunch. Bad but I will take the spend on the chin.

Had some more items with bids today, so that's two ending today that will be sold, and another ending later on next week. Have 3 things now to package tonight and send off tomorrow. Some things ending with no bids, but hey, it's going slowly but surely. Have a couple of other things that I could list today if I get off my behind!

Had a nap today which I haven't done in ages, and it was so needed. Felt exhausted all week.
Went for a run yesterday, 2.5 miles. My long run is scheduled for today, but my knee feels dodgy (think it's just a runner's knee). So battling with the do I do it, or do I listen to my body and skip it, but then feel guilty? Will see how that pans out....

Yesterday I changed from my iphone 5S, to my bf's iphone 6 (he got a new one through work). My 5 works perfectly, but at 16gb it just wasn't cutting it on the storage space side. So, I've switched, and now have 64GB to play with. Debating selling the old one, or keeping it for a spare. It is 18 months old, had a screen protector on it and a good case the whole time, so barely even a scratch on it, battery is still great, etc etc. Could get some decent money for it if I do decide to part with it.

I have until August on my contract, once that's done I will definitely switch to a SIM only deal. Could get a similar package to what I have now for around £15 a month rather than the £35 I am currently paying. I am lucky that I often get tech castoffs from my bf as he works in IT and gets a lot of old gadgets through his work. I will making the most of it while I can, it saves me money in the long run :A

He has given me some DVDs and games to either sell, or get rid of through music magpie/webuybooks. I think he's seeing my success at getting some more money together and wants in as well!
  • busy busy today with two people off sick so feeling a bit stretched in the office!
I sold a game last night on BIN on eb@y, packaged 3 items this morning and they will be posted off by my lovely mother as she has her own parcels to send. Still waiting for one person to pay for an item they won yesterday. Have lots more games to list tonight, so hopefully they will sell as fast!

Didn't do my long run in the end yesterday, felt like I should be sensible and listen to my body (namely my knee). Will start afresh this week. Need to stop feeling like a failure when I know my training is actually going really well.

Couldn't drop off to sleep last night. Mind was racing and I felt buzzed even though I was dog-tired. Managed to drop off about 2am in the end.

I've downloaded an app called perk scratch and win which I saw mentioned on the make £10 a day thread. I actually enjoy mobile games like that, and it's great to do mindlessly in front of the tv. Although you need to win a lot of points to convert it into cash, I think I can do it in a reasonable time-span.

That's it I think. Shouldn't need to spend anything today (apart from pay my mum back for postage, but I don't count that as I that is covered by the buyer) so fingers crossed should be another NSD. I think from next month I will start counting them :D Paypal is looking very healthy from eb@y, waiting for it all to become available now!
