I've been in court when this has happened, it was a while ago so I can't recall the exact details. I think it was something like a 3 year ban which was over half spent & she had a job lined up that required her to drive. She got what she wanted. I suspect that the bench are so used to people coming up before them again & again for similar matters that if someone appears who made one bad mistake several years ago & has been good since (or not caught!) they get looked on kindly.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

If you got more than a 1 yr Ban then the circumstances of the DD offence are likely to be worse than the average offence.
Personally Inhope they increase the ban.0 -

dd should be ban for life. You cannot be trusted to do something as basic as drive sober.0

You really should read up on what you are going to post about before actually posting.
Double jeopardy refers to being tried for the same offence twice and has nothing to do with an appeals court increasing the original sentence.
