    ok odd subject lawn mowers

Have any of you got a mountfield lawn mower?

I always wanted one, so last year bought a 2nd hand, but I just cannot start it, it has a pull cord type thing on the right, I am left handed which I am sure doesn't help.

So how do you start yours?

OH cuts the lawn for me but is so unreliable................I am going to be looking at a hay meadow soon..............
I am considering selling the mountfiled and buying a flymo, electric one that I know I can start....................

    Dinner is done
    Washing up is done

CY glad today went ok; hope tomorrow even better.
    Dusty hugs for you.
DizzyImp good luck with the weight. I'm on day 70 of MyFitnessPal which works well for me.

Not a great deal achieved today, although pleasant in general.
Started off at the crack of dawn (for me) leaving at 8.05 to get to Tesco before gym. Traffic was appalling; it took an hour to get there instead of 15-10 mins, so I missed my first class but made it in time for zumba. Whizzed off after shower to collect MIL's friends from the station, they are over from Canada. Wrote and posted 2 Easter cards while I was waiting for train.

Offered my services as waitress (quite a sacrifice as I'd bought very yummy smelling French bread, apple and cinnamon doughnuts and blueberry muffins - none of which I can eat). We had a lovely time chatting - I had met MIL's friend when we visited MIL in Canada. Sick student cancelled today, so thought I may catch up some work and flying but they all seemed happy chatting and for me to stay....Mr N dropped in on his way home from work and suggested we went to the pub to eat. So I got home at around 7pm!! But it was a lovely afternoon for MIL, and despite the pub meal I've just consulted MFP and awarded myself a piece of chocolate and a cappuccino.

    Then rang my mum.
Caught up on emails and got a really complex student to assess next week, with a lot of MH issues which will be difficult.
Now to work on those reports.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Bossy glad to her Mr moo has turned a corner. And delighted to hear that you have spent some money on yourself. As you have difficulty finding stuff you like you are very deserving of spending some money on yourself. The phrase strike whilst the iron is hot comes to mind.

Dusty - I must have missed something, but sending you hugs..

Pigpen - sending you GP appointment sorting vibes...

    Kitchen floor
    Dust stairs and LR

    Ring gas people[/STRIKE]

Hooray! I also paid a couple of bills, did an intranet shop and tidied up generally. Ringing the gas people made me mildly cross

kaz re lawnmowers. I am left handed, and I have trouble, but I find it helps if I press the prime button about ten times instead of the recommended three:D, and also it starts easier if it is level, even better if I put it on the path to start it, rather than the lawn.

CY glad chemo was OK, sorry you have to go back tomorrow.

Bossy ,you sound brighter after a bit of me time:)

Don't feel bad about getting some shopping for yourself Bossy - you deserve it. Well done on the certificate!!

CY so glad today went better for you; hope tomorrow goes OK too. Glad to hear DD's chap is OK.

Narco glad you had a nice meal with MIL at the pub - hope your difficult assessment with the student with MH issues goes OK.

Kaz I think ours may be a Mountfield mower and I too find it really hard to start; there's a definite technique to it. I've asked J if we could have a Flymo so I could mow the lawn so he doesn't have to but he's not budging grrrrr.

Mrs-MP bet you had a lovely time out in the garden; I want to get some seed potatoes soon and get them planted now J has dug us a vegetable patch due to having to give up the allotment.

Last day with no kids tomorrow; J will be home in the evening. Had my counselling session this afternoon and Deb and I were saying this Easter holidays will be make or break for me and J as still having issues (spent a lot of last weekend rowing and I told him if things don't get better me and the kids are off - he's amazed I'm so matter of fact and calm about it but it's how I feel). D says how strong I am but how I am treating the whole thing with dignity and it's not turning into a slanging match but it's hard not to when he comes up with all the carp. Thing is he's not used to me being strong as I'm always down .... or rather I was .... and he's having to get used to me as I am now and I'm no pushover. Interesting times.

    Mumto5 - Hope you've found your keys!
CY - Glad the chemo went well & that DD2s fiance is on the mend. :T

Hugs, sticks, spoons, vibes as wanted/needed to all.

I've got the laundry (4 loads all hung out but finished off in the drier) and the dishes caught up, wiped down the window sill in the kitchen and all the worktops, supervised Zack having mad moments at the workmen repairing the road. They're only filling potholes but are restricted by the amount of traffic this road gets and where people park their cars. Hopefully at some point they'll get around to doing the ones outside our house while I'm home or I may end up with no nets or curtains at my window and a dog shaped hole in the glass! :o

    I'm hoping to fly tomorrow....:o

    This week:
Sort store card for DD to give to her friend to give to her mum (should have been done nearly 2 weeks ago :o)
Buy Easter treats for kids (5 needed)
Prep as much as possible before next weeks delivery
    Finish reading my book

Get DD sorted for going away
