Word is that May is going to put a 'we'll walk away with no deal' in the Tory manifesto so that she can walk away round about September. But will have a mandate from UK voters to do so, so there will be nothing else for it.
I'll await with interest the Conservative party manifesto. But if there is such a clause in there, and it's by no means certain just certain journo's hearing rumours. I'd start thinking less about negotiations and more about the chaos that will ensue.
Mistrust of Westminster has been apparent in Scottish politics for decades. It's just that Scots used to think that Labour would be the best party to buffer from the worst of it. No so now.
Part of the last Conservative manifesto was that they would never do anything to take the UK out of the single market, so I wouldn't trust much that you read in there.
About the only thing you can trust the Tories to do is provide another plateful for the well off at the expense of the rest of the nation.0 -

Yet Cameron himself promised the UK an EU in/out referendum, back in January 2013.
This was well before the 2015 election wasn't it?The Conservative General election manifesto sets out a clear EU policy of reform, renegotiation followed by an EU referendum.
So rather than post your biased drivel consider this: if the EU had tossed a few crumbs rather than sent Cameron away with a flea in his ear, would we even have had an EU referendum?0 -

This is from the Conservative General Election Manifesto in 2015:“We benefit from the Single Market and do not want to stand in the way of the Eurozone resolving its difficulties….we will not let the integration of the Eurozone jeopardise the integrity of the Single Market or in any way disadvantage the UK... We want to expand the Single Market, breaking down the remaining barriers to trade and ensuring that new sectors are opened up to British firms

I appreciate this doesn't fit in with the alternative facts that Brexiteers prefer to surround themselves with, so feel free to rewrite this in your head with whatever flag waving visual nonsense overlaid with a deafening rendition of Land of Hope and Glory you have on a constant internal loop.
Back on planet earth there are some people who feel pretty let down by the Conservatives on this, in much the same way Lib Dem voters did with Clegg's tuition fee promise. And we know how well that worked out for them.0 -

"We will give you a say over whether we should stay in or leave the EU with an in-out referendum by the end of 2017".
If you cannot read, that is your problem.
Blaming your inability to read on anybody or anything else however speaks volumes for your poor powers of comprehension.0 -

I was very disappointed indeed in the result of the EU referendum, but on the planet where I live, a Referendum trumps the manifesto of any party.Union, not Disunion
I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.
It's the only way to fly straight.0 -

Sturgeon promised one too.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

They do if you win. People expect a party that wins an election to implement it's manifesto.
Unfortunately, the chances of the SNP winning the General Election are somewhat limited. I believe it is only standing in 59 out of the 650 constituencies on offer, so its chances of forming a government post 8th June seem a bit remote. (Although I suppose some people might be hoping for a hung parliament, and that the SNP could do a deal with someone else.)
Nobody cares what's in the manifestos of opposition parties. Only parties that form a government get a chance to implement their manifestos.0 -

In her manifesto she said that the Scottish Govt should go for another referendum.. something something against our will. She won that election.Only parties that form a government get a chance to implement their manifestos. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Failing to understand many people voted for the Conservatives assuming that however the referendum went, single market access would be safe, appears to be yours.
Good job at sort of semi understanding the document that you'd never seen before and couldn't find until I linked to it for you, in such short time though.0 -

I can 100% guarantee that there will be no change to our status in the single market while the current conservative manifesto applies.
The next manifesto may or may not state otherwise and you will soon be given chance to vote for it if you so wish.0
