You do realise that Mrs May is going to refuse a 2nd referendum?
And there is absolutely no downside for her in doing that because the majority of people in Scotland do not want one.
No second referendum, 2014 result stands, (as agreed by all).
Game over0 -
Wishful thinking mollycat. Those who want independence aren't going to get back in their box and in any case David mundell has been careful to say that Scotland could have a referendum, but shouldn't0

Oh man I REALLY REALLY hope she does ... I reckon that could push us up to as much as 70% if she did ... no doubt the likes of you will cry no fair and say 2014 stands etc ... but we will smile at you and go there there calm down dear0 -

Just to add, in the January Times Panelbase poll 504 people said there should be a referendum either 'in the next year or two' or 'about two years from now' while 515 said there shouldn't be one 'in the next few years'. Hardly great evidence for 'game over'!

Cross posting this in here too ( also in Brexit thread )German MEP @ElmarBrok_MEP has warned the Tories that if they try to divide the EU27 in Brexit talks: "We can make a big fuss over Scotland."Would Spain veto Scotland? Unlikely, say experts. Labour's @davidmartinmep says biggest threat to Scotland in EU is from Tories, not Spain
Could an indy Scotland's EU entry be quickest, easiest ever? @tobiaslock & @KirstyS_Hughes reckon so. Our page 1 tomorrow.
So are SNP !!!!-a-hoop with expert our page.1? Not really, @AlynSmithMEP says their focus us still on trying to cut a deal in UK.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
So they are finally admitting they can't just "stay" in the EU.
We still need to know what currency Scotland are planning to use if they become independent though. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Even if this were true, ( 70% of Scots would never
contemplate making themselves financially worse off), what would it matter if there were no referendum?
Think of it logically; if most Scots don't want a referendum, how would the refusal of a referendum push support up to 70%?
Sounds illogical because it is. :cool:0 -

51% don't want a referendum 'in the next few years'. You can't assume that they would all be happy for a Westminster government to refuse to agree to one being held. 70% is a bit of a reach, but not as much as you thinking it'd be game over!0
