<--- from Joan McAlpineOur farmers in Scotland currently receive 16% of the UK's CAP payments, well above our UK population share of 8%. After 2021 the UK has not promised to pass this on
Not at all surprising. Complaining they're not going to continue to get more than their rUK counterparts. I'd say that's entirely fair, under iScotland they'll get less anyway.
Where in the minds of Scottish nationalists does it translate that all of these subsidies which are paid to Scotland by other members of the UK will magically appear in the Scottish Treasury once independence is achieved, why don't they understand it's revenue their economy doesn't produce?
Unless of course you're banking on milking the EU? Good luck with that. Plenty more poorer countries than Scotland with their hands out.0 -

Hhmmm.
Possible sheep-farming problems, eh.
And yet I remember hearing nothing from you regarding the at least partially-EU-caused actual crisis in Scottish dairy farming which has been in decline for some years now.
I wonder why that is?
Perhaps it doesn't suit your agenda. The EU’s intervention milk price is too low and should be reviewed before April

Yeah I read that today0 -
Certainly was an interesting QT last night.
Of course the really big issue of the night was Mundell and his apparently switching electorate.
The utter shambles of the Scottish education system after ten years of SNP management is barely worth mentioning.
It will of course be the tories fault though.0 -
I did notice how the two people from down south suggested Scotland shouldn't adopt the English system as it's not without its faults
I also liked the recognition by Swinney that there are issues and that he is tackling them ... it's also important to remember it's the local councils that effectively deal with a lot of the education teacher numbers etc
And I liked the fact the Yes camp seemed to also question Swinney which is strange as they are meant to be brainwashed ...
Interesting indeed0 -

Indeed. And yet appears to still be vastly ahead of Scotland's.I also liked the recognition by Swinney that there are issues and that he is tackling them ... it's also important to remember it's the local councils that effectively deal with a lot of the education teacher numbers etc
That's right. It's very important to remember that whatever scotlands problems are, according to the SNP at least, it's always someone else's fault. And I liked the fact the Yes camp seemed to also question Swinney which is strange as they are meant to be brainwashed ...
Interesting indeed
Are they?
Who did that to them? Was it the tories?0 -
Well I think the fact it was suggested we don't copy Englands education would indicate it's not exactly great either ... why should we settle for second best... when ... if we sort it right it can be the best again ?
Are you suggesting that the SNP should take the blame for everything ? Hey Trump is a nightmare ... oh that's the SNP''s fault that is ... Hey Brexit is happening ... that's the SNP''s fault that is ... you do realise that just sounds like SNP Bbbbbbaaaaaaaaaddddddd again don't u ?0 -

Yes it's a good point. Why settle for second best when you can have a lot worse. Are you suggesting that the SNP should take the blame for everything ? No I think you misunderstand. What we do is look at who is supposed to have responsibility. So the the SNP didn't elect Donald trump. But they do have responsibility for education in Scotland. If the SNP do something good then we'll all give them a big clap.

The difference is ... Swinney recognised and accepted there is an issue in the Scottish education system ... and guess what ... he's gonna deal with it but in a way that's right for Scotland
I await your clap for our NHS ... in your own time of course ... wouldn't want to embarrass you by expecting it straight away0 -

Let's not get too excited about about the state of the NHS anywhere in the UK, but if it makes you feel better.
