    Made me laugh :)

Nicola will continue to be rumbled and ridiculed, and not just by Scots who I'm told (:rotfl:) are the only people who truly understand Scottish politics.

Spain rejects Nicola's single market plan.

Iceland isn't too keen on Scotland trying to join EFTA either.

In that link I liked the comments by Daniel Kenealy
Mr Toledo's rejection of the plan came as a former adviser to the Scottish Parliament’s EU committee accused Ms Sturgeon of pursuing a policy that is “fundamentally dishonest” because she knows it has no chance of success.

Daniel Kenealy, a lecturer in devolution and EU politics at the University of Edinburgh, said he agreed with the view that she is trying to “march supporters to the top of the EEA hill, only for big, bad Westminster to march them back down again” by rejecting it.

Writing in a blog for the London School of Economics and Political Science, he said the paper was “shallow in terms of policy”, used “questionable” examples and its comparison with the Faroes was “stretching the sinews of credibility.”
    Noting that:

May warns Sturgeon on ‘impractical’ Brexit plans
    December 21 2016, 12:01am, The Times

Theresa May has moved to knock back any suggestion of a separate Scottish deal over Brexit, hours after Nicola Sturgeon unveiled plans for Scotland’s future relationship with Europe.

The prime minister said it was wrong to assume there would be any “differential” agreement for Scotland when the UK withdraws from the European Union. She also warned that some of the Scottish government’s plans could prove to be “impractical”.

Mrs May was reacting to the unveiling of the Scottish government’s blueprint for Scotland to stay in the single market after Brexit.

... it does indeed all link in to the, frankly boringly repetitive, SNP tactic of asking for the impossible and whingeing when they don't get it.

May has obliged in helping them to march down the hill. They were already on their way down of course.

The trouble for the SNP is that May is clearly right.

Unless you can prove that Scotland's hard to reach areas are more deserving this is just typical grievance culture speaking.

I used to play online games with a guy from the Shetland isles, he had a good internet connection. Could it perhaps be that there are more people with bad service outside of Scotland? Did that thought cross your mind?

Er, is this not on top of Scotland's own funding then?

Like the broadband help announced by Scotland in August last year?
    http://news.gov.scot/news/broadband-help-for-rural-communities
    And the community broadband funding?
    http://www.hie.co.uk/community-support/community-broadband-scotland/funding/

    Also see: https://www.scotlandsuperfast.com/search-faqs/
And note maps of actual speeds here: researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/SN06643/SN06643.pdf

So by far the areas of highest population with slower broadband speeds are NOT in Scotland. ;)
Hence by population affected, the 4% you speak of would appear to be quite generous in fact.
And more-so when you consider funding already in place for Scotland as I show above.

Erm Scotland makes up 8% of the UK polukation ... so unless you can prove the people of Scotland are less worthy than the other UK citizens this is just typical behaviour coming from yourself

However the figures work out, I hope that our old friend skintmacflint will get an increase in his internet speed. I recall that he complained about it.
