That's some mess the UK is in thanks to the vote in June ... ah well I'm sure once indy happens England and Wales will be able to sort their mess out ... I do have sympathy for for Ireland and Gibraltar though... I hope they manage to get something sorted for themselves0

Oh I absolutely do, it's some mess ... I still can't fathom out why people voted the way they did, and wonder if they would still vote the same0

Salmonds also in the news floating about in EFTA headquarters and Scottish reps have been in Liechtenstein.
Looks like the Scottish Govt and MP's have been quietly getting a case together to present to May in the next few weeks. And potentially to put forward to Scots in the event of a second ref, if rUK/media keeps shouting loudly about hard borders and choosing between rUK and EU trade ( as they have been doing already).
Rather than providing links to already-old reports, you're suggesting that Nicola's being truthful there?
From my earlier link:The SNP government's Brexit position looks to be an absolute shambles. If it isn't Alex Salmond touring TV studios it's Mike Russell blabbering in Brussels.
Rather than claiming absolute fantasies, the SNP should be outlining a coherent response to the UK's vote to leave the EU.Academics have warned again that this proposal would be the worst of all worlds, trapping Scotland in an EU-wide pact over which we would have no influence, and cutting us off from our biggest and nearest market in the rest of the UK.
Nah, Salmond's off on a jolly (no surprise there) whilst Sturgeon continues to spout the usual rubbish just to give folks like you something (slim) to hold on to.
Nothing more.0 -

How sweet it is to see you and Elantan getting on so well together.
Two anarchists in a pod, as it were.
Neither of you seem to think much of democracy, after all.
Perhaps you should really get together - you could then join Elantan when she leaves as she has said she will.
Much happiness will surely abound.0 -
Salmond is just being used to give Sturgeon deniability, should she need it.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

An imagined affront.
If Nicola made these points during the discussion on Brexit, and I would hope she did rather than harp on about independence and red lines, then you will find that the UK government will not do as you and others speculate unless there is good reason as the UK (all of us) to do so.Can we get back to facts? What's your response to what I said about your trade situation?Looks like the Scottish Govt and MP's have been quietly getting a case together to present to May in the next few weeks. And potentially to put forward to Scots in the event of a second ref, if rUK/media keeps shouting loudly about hard borders and choosing between rUK and EU trade ( as they have been doing already). It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

From my earlier link:
And from your own old linked report from last week:
This option wouldn't trap Scotland anywhere. In fact it would solve the problem of a hard Brexit and trade borders should rUK get a terrible deal from the EU. Scotland would be free to persue a deal with rUK outwith the EU. Not only that it would bring former Yes voters who voted to Leave the EU back on board to the pro indy side.
However it should always be remembered that 62% of Scots voters regardless of party affiliations voted to Remain within the EU in full.Nah, Salmond's off on a jolly (no surprise there) whilst Sturgeon continues to spout the usual rubbish just to give folks like you something (slim) to hold on to.
Nothing more. The First Minister acknowledged it would be “challenging”, but said the Scottish Government would publish proposals on securing a special deal for Scotland in the coming weeks.
It followed Ms Sturgeon saying on Saturday that unless Theresa May shielded Scotland from a hard Brexit involving loss of single market membership, she would hold a second referendum
Unfortunately for your assertions above. Sturgeon tends to do exactly what she says she will. With plenty of fair warning in advance. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Salmond is just being used to give Sturgeon deniability, should she need it.He is currently the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gordon and is the SNP International Affairs and Europe spokesperson in the House of Commons, following his election to the UK House of Commons in 2015.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

It was in my answer to medium jock.
It's not happened yet, and no one has said they won't be transferred back to Holyrood from Brussels because no one knows what powers are coming back and which are not.
Like I said, imaginary. You might as well have said you're starting the world first unicorn farm to boost exports.0
