Nicola Sturgeon made a fool of herself and has now compounded that with her false congratulations.
She has allowed her personal hatred to intrude on her position as First Minister. Her actions are appalling and could very well have done serious damage to Scotland.
Yet again Nats fail to represent Scotland.
It really is north Britain parish council up there.0 -

Yes, he seems to have the American isolationist, protectionist, gene, but he's not against trade and it augers well for setting up another trade deal ready to go before Brexit, with the others being already sussed out. As for the EU remember this:
http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/722162/UK-Canada-EU-trade-deal-scrap-free-movement-Brexit-Spanish-foreign-minister
Some sort of deal will be struck with the EU at least as good, trade-wise, as that with Canada.
The idea is clearly to have all these things available in two years as a viable and attractive alternative to the EU and in that context the Single Market is a complete non starter since it forbids independent trade deals.
The EU option will not be the only kid on the block for the UK in two years time. All good news for the UK and all good if it comes together for the UK's barganng position with a single market relegated to a bit part.
Whether this scenario is correct will be known over the next year or so as things develop but it's one reason the SNP wants a quick short sharp referendum to bamboozle Scots before the EU option crumbles in plausibility and attractiveness.
All IMHO of course.Union, not Disunion

I'm not sure there's enough nats + full blown EU fans + bamboozled voters to get anywhere near making it work.
As soon as the EU fans see the deficit and needed measures, they'll fold.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
Just catching up with today's news .. . My it doesn't just look like the UK is gonna destroy itself ... looks like the USA is gonna go for it too0

What Merkel says is of no concern to Scotland what Nicola says is of concern to Scotland.
So stop trying to deflect.
Nicola is not and never will be a statesman but then again the majority of us know that and have voted and will continue to vote accordingly should she by some miracle of biblical proportions manage to wangle IndyRef2.
Hahaha love it. All you you convinced that the First Minster of Scotland's statement has nothing of interest for BBC Scotland, BBC Scotland news, STV, Reporting Scotland, the Scotsman, the Scottish Herald, the Daily Record ( Scotland's Champion ), the National, the Scottish Sun, Scotland Tonight, Scotland 2016 or any other Scottish media outlet...is frankly delusional. The fact it's also reported elsewhere on other media outlets also is incidental.
You're all sounding a little bit silly to be absolutely honest. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Could you please translate your post, it unfortunately is not very coherent?0 -
And meanwhile in the world of real politics.
Sturgeon has irrevocably broken the stupidity monitor leaving it a in a tangle of broken wiring and shattered safety and logic valves, by demanding a Westminster committee investigates her own party for not taking heed of the advice that should police Scotland be centralised they would no longer be eligible for VAT relief.
So not being content with the legal situation the SNP ploughed on regardless.
Nikki love why with your legal training did you not understand the law as it was clearly explained to you OOOOOOOOH why bother trying to reason with a fanatic.Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

Oh I think you do. You said it yourself.what Nicola says is of concern to Scotland.
Is a simple enough logic as to why she was fully entitled to say something regarding Trump being elected. She wasn't speaking for the UK. She never does.
But as your elected First Minister of Scotland (like it or not ) for at least the next four and a half years, she's certainly entitled, and in fact expected to make a statement for Scots residents and Scottish media consumption.
So am not really sure what there is to get yourself so worked up about. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

You have a talent for rewriting history. Thankfully not all of us here have selective amnesia.Legislation to create single police and fire services has passed the final hurdle at the Scottish Parliament.
The Police and Fire Reform Bill sets out plans for Scotland's eight regional police and fire services merge into respective single units by April. The vote passed 101 votes to six, with 14 abstentions. And while Labour and Tories backed the proposals, opposition politicians raised concern over whether the mergers would deliver the projected savings and whether they could see a mass cull of police civilian staff. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

certainly Nicola is entitled to say anything she likes
but when speaking as first minister for a smallish region of the sovereign Uk, she ought to ask herself whether it is in the best interest of the people of that non sovereign region.
a little difficult to see how it benefits those people0
