    Your 'quote'...

The idea that Scotland could have its own currency is preposterous. Name me one other country in the world that has its own currency.

... appears to simply be a tweet by some chap called David Halliday. And what's more he doesn't appear to be a unionist. :)

    https://twitter.com/davidjfhalliday/status/754467705886019584

You need to learn to stop waffling.

Of course he isn't a unionist ! :D The quote is one of many he makes about the complete daftness of unionist reasoning when it comes to things like currency. You need to learn what satire is.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Why yes. Strangely enough it's back in the news today.:)

The episode is now reportedly being referred to as the “Scottish shambles” in China

    http://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/10bn-china-deal-collapses-over-hostile-scots-outcry-1-427974

    There is no deal.
Just goes to show how outside the realm of Scottish politics a lot of you are here. Do you know why the memorandum of understanding ( there was no deal ) was lost ?

Scottish Labour, Lib Dems and unionist newspapers, particularly the Herald and the Scotsman spent weeks crapping on about it day after day, article after article. What terrible, awful news it all was, how could the SNP even think of doing such a deal. Human rights, Chinese, corruption etc etc.

They are entirely to blame for the collapse of any 'memorandum of understanding'. The backlash and shambles is theirs because in their usual rush to do anything down regarding the SNP... the Chinese took note of the extremely unpopular press any future deal was getting and withdrew. *slow hand clap*.
A controversial agreement between the Scottish Government and a Chinese firm said to be worth £10bn should be scrapped, according to Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie.

The Lib Dem leader accused Nicola Sturgeon of a "gross error of judgement" and said the agreement was "dragging Scotland's reputation through the mud".
    http://stv.tv/news/politics/1352482-sturgeon-should-shred-china-deal-says-willie-rennie/
Nicola Sturgeon urged to ‘shred’ deal with Chinese firm

Speaking on the campaign trail in Edinburgh, Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale said: “The more I hear about the deal the dodgier it sounds.
“There’s a complete lack of openness and transparency about this. We don’t know what this means for Scottish jobs, for Scottish businesses and we don’t know the details of some of the dark activities of the companies involved.
Now trying like mad to justify themselves.
No shame in questioning Government’s China deal

But the opposition parties have nothing to be ashamed about. In the face of a potential deal with a firm owned by a construction giant accused of gross corruption, they were only raising legitimate questions – questions which were also being asked by charities such as Amnesty International, or should Amnesty International be ashamed of themselves as well?
    http://www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/herald_view/14847001.No_shame_in_questioning_Government___s_China_deal/

Imagine any company wanting to invest anywhere where the local press and political parties are citing gross corruption and Amnesty International. What total idiots. A potential 10bn investment lost due to nothing more than headline grabbing and trying to score points. Yes, a total Scottish shambles with Rennie and Dugdale at the heart of it. Hopefully they'll both be over the moon now...

... or else will be blaming the SNP as per.

    No, what you said was this;
Here's all you need to know from the unionist side of the independence debate regarding currency.

You need to learn how to tell the truth.
Just goes to show how outside the realm of Scottish politics a lot of you are here....

Since your "realm of Scottish politics" seems to involve making things up, I would hope that most people are well outside of it.:)

If this was a Westminster initiative the SNP and their support would also be all over this like a rash because of the same reasons. If you're all so against trident supplying jobs to Scotland why are you not against human rights violations by the investor? Especially as pious social democrats.

The values seem to me to be wishy washy on this one.

Aye, because the SNP couldn't organise a pith up in the brewery and are found out time after time.

They can't even draft coherent legislation.

Named person thrown out by the courts

Offensive Behaviour at Football thrown out by the Scottish Parliament because it didn't work

Their IT systems cost a fortune and still don't work eg CAP payments and Police.

It is now so bad they have given up introducing any new legislation and now just concentrate on Brexit and Independence.

Nicola how about getting on with the day job?

They haven't introduced a single bit of legislation to Parliament since the last election apparently, that's quite shocking if it's true.

I'm with her - Nicola's explicit support for Hillary is going down a storm with her supporters NOT! Definite rumblings in the ranks

This clip from QT in 2013 is worth a look. Regardless of what you think of George Galloway he talks a lot of sense here.

This is the ugliness of the SNP.

The text under that clip still pushes the lie that the anti-Farage protesters were SNP activists. Thanks for reminding us about how stories always get twisted to end up as "SNP bad"!.;)
