But those assurances could be things like "we will aim to get good deals for manufacturers etc"
Which is the same shpeil as they've been giving anyone with concerns

We really don't know so they're nothing more than supposition and educated guesses.
I deal in facts day in day out
It's a fact that the sun is 90 odd million miles away.

It's supposition that any politician has our best interests at heart.

If we fall into the trap of believing them or anything anyone publishes 100% and take them as facts - they have us

Pull the other one. It's got bells on.
EU competition regulators have asked Britain to explain its commitments to Nissan in exchange for the carmaker’s agreement to build new models in the north of England, amid speculation among UK opposition politicians that the company may have been offered a sweetheart deal...

...These assurances from the government last month followed Nissan’s warning that it could halt investment in its British plants unless it obtained guarantees that tariffs would not rise post-Brexit or that it would be compensated for any extra costs.

It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

After all, he is the only one coming up with definitive answers on things like currency and closer EU integration. :)

Here's all you need to know from the unionist side of the independence debate regarding currency.
The idea that Scotland could have its own currency is preposterous. Name me one other country in the world that has its own currency.

Your idea of a *fact* falls way below my criteria for one

You may well believe something to be so but unless you can test and prove it, it isn't.

Remember the £10Bn deal with China that Nicola negotiated.

Anyone know how that's working out?

Why yes. Strangely enough it's back in the news today.:)

The episode is now reportedly being referred to as the “Scottish shambles” in China

    There is no deal.

    Your 'quote'...

The idea that Scotland could have its own currency is preposterous. Name me one other country in the world that has its own currency.

... appears to simply be a tweet by some chap called David Halliday. And what's more he doesn't appear to be a unionist. :)

You need to learn to stop waffling.

Unforunately it's a bit more sinister than "waffling". ;)

It's deliberate misdirection, and it runs through this entire thread like a stick of rock!
