I did wonder if it was an example of the Scottish cringe I keep hearing about :)
Think so, you see it on twitter with absolute hysteria over Gaelic signs, or kids learning Scots poetry. The discovery that pupils learn about the Scottish wars of independence caused the vapours for some. In what other country would this happen?

I know, I just don't get it. Our ancestors would be ashamed of the self loathing which is so often on display.

It's Nationalism, (all of it), and people who are determined to destroy my country and way of life that I (almost, but can't quite) loathe.

    Voted democratically to stay.

Get a massive benefit from staying in the UK.

    No economic prospect going forward.

Have all the powers we actually need within our devolved government anyway.

And despite the never ending propaganda war from SNP our comrades within the Uk still support NO voting unionists in our fight to reject nationalism.

Elantan. Leanne, Beecher, Shakey et al; I don't understand you, what you want, hope to achieve etc, etc and i never will.

I live a contented life, am loved and love others in return.

We live in a tolerant, cosmopolitan progressive country, (I'm talking about the UK), and people in Scotland are no more likely to exhibit generosity, humanity and charity than someone in ,(say), Burnley, Wrexham or Bangor.

There are no differences between us, so I get troubled when nationalism seeks to fabricate a spurious identity for us north of the border.

In my ideal world we stick together; we don't retreat into inward looking enclaves.

I honestly have no idea what or why it is you guys want.

I can't understand why you wouldn't want to tackle the injustices that bother you from within a UK framework.

I bear you no personal malice, but if you achieve your goal I would walk away from here and others would too, (no loss I hear you say, but I fear it would be and probably the beginning of the end for Scotland, economically and culturally).

Here's the rub; 55% of people a lot like me, 45% of people a lot like you. How is it fixed?

    Who knows.

    Wee, sleekit, cowran, tim'rous beastie,
    O, what a panic's in thy breastie!

Isn't that just how it is. Panic. You can see it all slipping away I suppose.

We voted in 2014 to stay in the UK, THEN in 2016 we voted to stay in the EU. It's only fair that we find out which union will win the day in another referendum imo. We're not stuck in 2014 forever you know.

Half of those who voted out of the EU did so on the basis of a vague distaste of immigration. You've got a fair sense of humour on you I'll give you that - with your tolerant, progressive country in describing the UK only 5 weeks after a vote such as the Brexit one was. Best laugh I've had on here for ages. :D

It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?
