Personally not surprised that the SNP’s constant anti-British rhetoric has found some electoral resonance in the Irish Catholic communities of the central belt. Not for nothing is the Scottish saltire flown alongside the Irish tricolour and Irish republican flags on these marches.

Not this again. You can lay many things at the door of the SNP but not the sectarian divide in the WoS. ThIs was here long before the SNP was even thought of. Supporters of independence come from a broad church, as do the supporters of the status quo.

You are more likely to see a Catalan flag than a tricolour.
