Unionists are starting to lose the economic arguments now too. Scots and others aren't so convinced Scotland will be such a bad place after independence.

Maybe time for some second thoughts on imposing the Withdrawal Bill on Scotland without Holyrood's consent ? The huge fuss over that, with every Scottish party supporting Nicola Sturgeon will could easily see polls for independence swinging upwards even further. Perhaps Nicola is counting on it ? ;)

As you well know Shakey, the Nats bottle it when it comes to a a poll that matters!

Fellow Scots fear not Queen Nicola has it all figured out.

The fact that we can`t understand economics is the SNP`s nuclear attack on our intelligence.
watch the following clip and be very worried.

Unionists are starting to lose the economic arguments now too. Scots and others aren't so convinced Scotland will be such a bad place after independence.

    What's changed?
Scotland's economy is set for five more years of "subdued" growth, lagging behind the UK as a whole, the Scottish Fiscal Commission has warned.

The forecaster cut its estimates for the coming years, saying growth will fail to exceed 1% in the years to 2023.

It also predicted that wages will fall in real terms this year, and will not start to rise until 2020.

The Scottish government insisted the "challenging" outlook was a result of UK government austerity policies.

But opposition parties claimed the "grim" forecasts showed that the SNP should focus more on economic matters than the constitution.

Of course there's someone else to blame.
Scottish Finance Secretary Derek Mackay set out the forecasts while presenting his first medium-term financial strategy to MSPs at Holyrood.

Mr Mackay said Scotland faced "significant challenges", but said the "ideological choice" of austerity by the UK government was a "fiscal straitjacket" which was to blame for weak growth.

He said: "This strategy clearly lays out the consequences of UK choices on Scotland's public finances, including UK imposed decisions on austerity, immigration policies that don't suit Scotland, and taking us out of the single market through Brexit.

"We will always deliver responsible government and balance the books, and I challenge the Chancellor to change course."

As I've posted before perhaps the Government of the day needs to focus on day to day matters. Rather than have their attention constantly diverted elsewhere. The electorate are going to wise up eventually.

48/52 % polls mean it's a little risky for Mrs May to test your bottling it theory anytime soon.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

A few things. The economic status quo and illusion of safety within the UK went along with the Brexit vote two years ago. Crunch time is coming and people are waking up to consequences they didn't vote for ( Scotland ).

On top of that devolution and the only partial safety net and buffer they have ( Holyrood ) is under threat too. The Tories intend to rewrite the Scotland Act giving them powers to do whatever they like without Holyrood's consent for the next 7 years.
Of course there's someone else to blame.
Scotlands economy is mostly run from Westminster. Who else is to blame for poor economic performance ? Stop trying to fool yourself and others with pretendy silly false arguments that the Scottish Govt has anything like the levers it needs. They can partially affect small parts of the Scottish economy. Otherwise, the blame rests elsewhere.

So Brexit and it's effects isn't a day to day matter ? The Scottish Govt are doing a competent job with day to day matters. Contrary to your last sentence, I feel that only now parts of the Scottish electorate ARE starting to wise up. They've finally realised Corbyn and Labour isn't going to save them either.
However, the poll also finds a 5% drop for Labour, along with a stunning 27% drop in Jeremy Corbyns approval ratings to -30. The gap between the SNP and Labour has more than doubled, from eight points to 17,
The Tories in their quest to ram Brexit and it's Withdrawal legislation through. And because they'd forgotten that devolution isn't really compatible with any UK 'single market' - will force Scotland to choose between the economic uncertainty of independence with Holyrood in charge.. or economic uncertainty with May, Johnson, Fox or Mogg etc in charge. The Holyrood option is starting to look quite attractive to some who were previously against.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Somewhat behind the curve. Corbyn was never going to save anyone. That was pretty certain from the day of his appointment. Depth of quality in the shadow cabinet is a clear illustration of the fractured nature of the Labour Party. Many good people simply won't or cannot serve under him.

    Today even more so. ;)

After absolute derisory coverage of what happened yesterday in the Scottish media and what it means for the Scottish Parliament ( trying to keep the masses unaware).. it's now playing on loop on every single news outlet.

Well done SNP, this needed blanket coverage in Scotland on mainstream news outlets and that's exactly what they got today. Doesn't matter what spin Sky/BBC and commentators put on it, people will make their own minds up. They just have to know about it in the first place.

  • Today even more so at PMQs, Blackford cut off his nose to spite his face it was hilarious. Silly fool.
