I watched the game yesterday and was also irritated by the booing. I decry all booing during that part of a football match. The fact that it is the UK antem for England is, in my view, asinine. England should have it's own anthem for sporting events.
I note that from the TV pictures English fans were intermixed somewhat with Scottish fans with no hostility evident. Haven't seen any reports so maybe maybe not.
The Dutch anthem as sung mutters on about Spain. The Marshal Wade verse is not used in the UK and is discarded, if it was ever there which is debatable - who really cares except those who want to hark back to old grudges.Union, not Disunion

Dortmund March 2017. Look, there was no excuse for what happened yesterday but as the the man said "let them without sin cast the first stone"....
Who has sin had no bearing on whether what happened was acceptable or not.
Why can't people just admit something is wrong or bad instead of scrambling around in the past or whatever in order to justify it? Balls, it shouldn't have happened. Whatever England fans have done in the past does not and will not justify or excuse Scotland fans doing something similar themselves, that's playground morality.0 -
As I said there was no excuse for what happened yesterday but I can't accept the shock/horror faux outrage. You are entitled to your view as I am to mine. The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.

The SNP face 2 problems IMO.
They are weakened by significant opposition now from both Tory and Labour.
The spotlight will also shift to Northern Ireland.
If the DUP manage to buy more financial support from Westminster it might help growth prospects in NI.
The contrast with the SNP managing a stagnant Scottish economy will be even clearer.0 -
This Tory/Terrorist flat earthed coalition is going well isn't it ? They can't even agree on a press release ... and Corbyn is preparing his speech as he reckons he is gonna be PM

Really hoping for Corbyn for PM. Think he would be great for Scotland as well. Glad he started off in Glasgow on the final day of campaigning.0 -
On a side note.
As an England supporter it was good to see the lad Griffiths getting his first 2 goals for Scotland.
Those memories will live with him forever. It doesn't get much better than scoring a brace against your arch rivals.0 -

He would certainly be better for Scotland than May ... especially as a lot of his policies are SNP policies ...
But let's carry on watching it all unfold first ...
The ulsterisation if the UK has a way to go yet ... and I rember so many people accusing the SNP of that particular crime ... and yet Tories in Scotland courted the OO and the Tories in UK went into coalition with them ... I've noticed Torrance and Daisley are awfy quiet ... and not a tory would appear on the Sunday Scottish politics programme ... even after their triumphant win ... but the SNP who took a kicking whilst still winning did at least so that says something

It's kind of ironic that despite Sturgeon claiming that Scotland should be at the heart of Europe, it is really NI which now can grab that claim.
The fact they share a land border with an EU country means they will command a fair amount of attention in the Brexit talks anyway. Now the DUP will feel buoyant about having more of a say.
It's just a shame they don't have oil0
